Je novovznikajúca platforma - verejný podstavec, ktorý ponúka priestor na prezentáciu dočasných inštalácií umelcov, komunikáciu aktuálnych tém a súčasné umenie vo verejnom priestore. Sokel je situovaný na Tyršovom nábreží v Bratislave, kde kooperuje s komunitným centrom Cyklo Kuchyňa a kultúrnym centrom T3. Názov je inšpirovan
ý filmom 2001: A Space Odyssey ( Stanley Kubrick, 1968). Monolit v knihe a vo filme reprezentuje stroj zostrojený neviditeľným mimozemským druhom, ktorý ovplyvňuje históriu povzbudzovaním ľudstva k pokroku v technologickom a kultúrnom rozvoji.

THE MONOLITH
It is an new platform - a public pedestal that offers space for the presentation of temporary installations of artists, current ideas and contemporary art in public space. The plinth is situated on Tyršovo nábreží in Bratislava, where it cooperates with the community center Cyklo Kuchyňa and the cultural center T3. The name is inspired by the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey (Stanley Kubrick, 1968). The monolith in the book and in the movie is a machine built by an invisible alien that follows history by encouraging humanity to advance in technological and cultural development.
