SRS Naviter Edition, Tolmin, Slovenia, 6-13 June 2026
The SRS are looking forward to welcoming pilots from 35 different countries to Slovenia, to share the skies with our partner, Naviter, who are based here. We have 7 great tasks planned for the week.
After the stable, flatland flying of Bassano, we come to Tolmin and the green and beautiful Soča valley in Slovenia. The emphasis is on selecting the limited number of routes generally marked out by the ridges and mountains, and less in keeping together to find lift.
The pace here is generally fast - often it's a competition to see who can turn the least - with mechanical climbing and soaring skills frequently making the difference wrapped up with the occasional cheeky into wind glide to the other side of the valley to spice things up and to see who dares to make the crossings the lowest.
It will be interesting to see how the new elevated goals work here and could result in some desperation ridge surfing on final glide to avoid an altitude penalty at the end.
Looking at the forecast we could be heading to Lijak for a few of the days, a huge ridge with a massive but varied and hilly valley in front of it. Both sites are excellent competition venues that should provide safe and close racing. All the goal fields have bars with excellent refreshments on tap, which is always popular!
As for the pilot quality… 6 out of the top 10 from the new PG XC Sport World ranking will be competing!
As aways, we have some amazing prizes, the stars are two Naviter Oudie N+!
