Campus Gallery je výstavným a spoločensko – kultúrnym priestorom, ktorý vznikol v roku 2015 pod odbornou gesciou Fakulty umení Technickej univerzity v Košiciach. S názvom galérie sa spája identita lokality, ktorou je živý univerzitný areál so svojim prirodzeným ruchom a diváckym potenciálom v podobe tisícov študentov Technickej univerzity. Významná časť programu sa orientuje predovšetkým na (domác
u i zahraničnú) profesionálnu umeleckú scénu, odbornú či medziodborovú prax a spoluprácu s externými vzdelávacími a galerijnými inštitúciami. Zámerom je priniesť na akademickú pôdu relevantné projekty z profesionálneho prostredia, ktoré majú praktický vplyv na dianie v odbore a z hľadiska aktuálnych poznatkov teda môžu mať aj zásadný dopad na skvalitnenie vzdelávacieho procesu na Fakulte umení. Na druhej strane je jedným z cieľov Campus Gallery aj vytváranie diskurzu, vlastné nastoľovanie tém formou výziev a vysielanie signálov nie len v kontexte odborných inštitucionálnych rámcov, ale aj nezávislej kultúrnej a verejnej sféry. Podporujeme aj koncept galérie ako prirodzeného miesta stretnutí a fóra otvorených a slobodných diskusií na najrôznejšie spoločenské témy. The Campus Gallery is an exhibition and cultural event site that originated in 2015 under professional supervision of the Faculty of Arts, Technical University of Košice. The name of the gallery is linked with the identity of the site characterized by lively university campus with its genuine bustle and spectatorial potential represented by thousands of Technical University students. Its core activity is to stimulate and present a range of artistic and scientific research at the Faculty of Arts. The significant part of the program focuses mainly on (domestic and foreign) professional artistic scene, professional and interdisciplinary experience, as well as cooperation with external educational institutions and art galleries. The aim is to introduce relevant professional projects into the academe with practical impact on the events in the field. Moreover, in the light of current knowledge, they can therefore have a major effect on improvement of educational process at the Faculty of Arts. On the other hand, one of the Campus Gallery’s objectives is to encourage discourse, raise challenging topics, and stimulate, not only in the professional institutional context, but also in independent cultural and public sphere. In addition, we support the concept of gallery as a natural meeting point and forum for open discussion about variety of social issues.
