Mystery of the Bed

The mattress features a cut-out section revealing the internal arrangement of its individual layers — a visual model borrowed from the commercial presentation of product quality.

The artist transfers this intimate interior space of sleep and home into the position of a vault for various objects of “survival” — weapons and preserved food. Constructed from durable yet uncomfortable materials, more commonly associated with military construction or civil defense, the work transforms a site of rest into a structure of preparedness, anxiety, and latent defense.

Act No. I

The artist reverses the lens of cultural anthropology, presenting objects such as devices for bodily stimulation and fat burning as parasites coexisting on the remnants of organic elements. In this configuration, the living and the human recede into the background, yielding to the demands of products.

These objects are emancipated as the primary entities of the narrative, within which new ethnographic systems and relationships are formed.

The work is a Fragile Model of the World, a tree, a planet and the materialized intertwining of the cosmic surface, all of which is enclosed by a ritual circle. Inside it, a zone is created where an artificially replaced world emerges. Beauty here does not arise from the contemplation of nature, but from the scientific reconstruction of its traces. The climate crisis, which the work addresses, appears not only as an ethical motif, but also as an ontological rupture – a moment when the boundary between the natural and the artificial has dissolved.

Titled “Open way”, this five-part series serves as a visual prayer and a manifestation tool for one’s
destiny. The work’s central purpose is to guide viewers toward their intended path, encouraging a
journey of discovery with a sense of flow and no resistance.

Designed to be read from the periphery inward, the series begins with two outermost panels
depicting figures in ethereal blue who perceive a life path. The two inner paintings, in a palette of
green and blue, visualize the visions of these figures as they prepare to engage with their journey.
The narrative culminates in the central piece, where a pair of hands ceremonially holds the path,
grounding this mystical endeavor in the earthly realm and serving as a visual reminder to take active
steps toward one’s destiny. Jungle-like motifs evoke a raw, primitive energy, symbolizing the
convergence of spiritual vision and terrestrial action at the heart of the work.

Na konci roka sa nám podarilo zrealizovať výstavu Krehké telá – výstava o hmote, svetle a prítomnosti.

Výstava ponúkla citlivý pohľad na telesnosť, materiál a svetlo ako nositeľov významu. Bola pozvaním spomaliť, vnímať prítomný okamih a nechať sa viesť jemnými vzťahmi medzi priestorom a telom.

Sme radi, že sme mohli uzavrieť rok práve takýmto sústredeným a krehkým projektom.

The synagogue is a space that carries memory.
It remembers silence, breath, and the traces of those who passed through it.

Krehké telá („Tender Bodies“) did not enter the synagogue as a gallery,
but as a living organism that responds to light, sound, and the presence of the viewer.

The artists bring matter, tension, and bodily traces that reawaken within the space.

It is an experience that unfolds like a walk of the soul through darkness, learning to see light again.

It is a ritual of return – to oneself, to the body, to inner quiet.

Minulý rok sa nám podarilo zrealizovať niekoľko krásnych a zmysluplných projektov.

Jedným z nich bola Samostatná umelecká komunita – chýbajúci kúsok puzzle 🧩

Projekt, ktorý spojil ľudí, nápady a tvorbu, a pomohol doplniť to, čo na našej umeleckej scéne dlhšie chýbalo. Sme radi, že sa tento kúsok puzzle podarilo nájsť a zaradiť na správne miesto.

Ďakujeme všetkým, ktorí boli jeho súčasťou 💛

Milí umelci!
Máme 2 voľné miesta v Zdieľanom ateliéri na Továrenskej 3 v Košiciach. Je to krásny veľký priestor o rozlohe 55 m2. K dispozícii je stôl a stolička (môžete si doniesť aj vlastné). Hneď vedľa miestnosti je spoločná kuchynka s rýchlovarnou kanvicou, mikrovlnkou, chladničkou a dvojplatničkou. Mávame spoločné komunitné obedy alebo workshopy.
Cena miesta je 100 eur/os.

Momentálne na FU TUKE prebiehajú obhajoby ateliérových prác. Študentky Veronika Cinkaničová a Viktória Lukáčová z Ateliéru Priestor pod vedením pedagógov Michaely Bujnákovej, Tomáša Borosa a Patrika Knoblicha predstavili svoje návrhy priestorov pre komunitnú, výstavnú a workshopovú miestnosť určenú pre komunitu kultúrneho centra aj širokú verejnosť.
Svoje projekty dnes úspešne odprezentovali a počas Dňa otvorených dverí je možné si ich práce pozrieť priamo na fakulte.
📍 Deň otvorených dverí FU TUKE prebieha od zajtra do soboty v čase 9:00 – 19:00.
