Introducing artist Magdaléna Roztočilová.

Magdaléna Roztočilová is a Czech sculptor whose practice explores the relationship between the body, material, and memory. Working across sculpture and installation, she creates tactile forms that evoke traces of human presence, fragility, and transformation. Through a restrained visual language and careful attention to materiality, her works invite contemplation of the subtle emotional and psychological forces that shape our experience of the world.

We are pleased to present her work in the group exhibition SOFT POWER, alongside Aziya Ikhtymbayeva, Dana Bartoníčková and Ivana Šáteková.

Aziya is a Kazakh-born artist based in Prague. Her paintings explore identity, memory, femininity, and cultural belonging through quiet, psychologically charged figures. Blending contemporary figurative painting with subtle references to personal and collective histories, her work invites viewers to reflect on the invisible forces that shape who we are.

We are pleased to present her work in the group exhibition SOFT POWER, alongside Dana Bartoníčková, Magdaléna Roztočilová and Ivana Šáteková.

Power rarely operates through force. More often, it works quietly—through images, language, everyday rituals, and cultural norms that gradually become part of how we see ourselves and the world.

SOFT POWER brings together works by Aziya, Dana Bartoníčková, Ivana Šáteková, and Magdaléna Roztočilová, exploring how identity, memory, and the body are shaped by subtle systems of influence. Across painting, relief, embroidery, and sculpture, the exhibition reveals that what we often perceive as natural is, in fact, culturally constructed.

Recognising these invisible structures opens the possibility of imagining ourselves—and the world—differently.

Soft Power examines the mechanisms of so-called soft power—subtle, often imperceptible forms of cultural influence through which notions of the body, subjectivity, belonging, normality, and social roles are produced and negotiated. Here, power operates not through explicit authority, prohibition, or coercion, but through images, aesthetic codes, traditions, collective narratives, and everyday rituals that gradually become naturalised within our perception of reality. It is precisely their apparent self-evidence and invisibility that render them among the most effective modes of cultural influence today.

Contemporary visual culture no longer understands the body as a neutral biological entity, but as a site of continuous representation and projection. The body becomes a space where individual experience intersects with collective imaginaries, cultural traditions, and societal expectations.

Introducing artist Ivana Šáteková.

Ivana Šáteková is one of the leading voices of the Slovak contemporary art scene. Working across drawing, painting, embroidery, and installation, she critically reflects on collective memory, cultural identity, and the social narratives that shape everyday life. Combining sharp observation with irony and visual precision, her works uncover the subtle mechanisms through which traditions, stereotypes, and systems of power become embedded in society.
