Schaumbergerove diela odkazujú na človeka a predstavujú uzavreté sochárske celky. Sochy Ahead sú vzpriamené, stĺpovité konštrukcie, ktoré svojou vertikálnou statuárnosťou pripomínajú strážcov. Sochár najprv vytvorí svoje sochy z drevených dosiek a potom ich nechá odliať do bronzu, ako napríklad verziu Shining Ahead so zlatým leskom. Okrem formálnej dimenzie vyžarujú sochy duchovnú silu, niečo sústredené, premýšľajúce, vnútorné, prítomné v sebe samom. Aktuálne diela sa diametrálne odlišujú od Schaumbergerových predchádzajúcich zváraných oceľových sôch, ktoré sa vyznačovali dynamikou, otvorenosťou a násilnou expresivitou.

Schaumberger's works refer to humans and represent closed sculptural units. The Ahead sculptures are upright, columnar structures that resemble guardians. The sculptor starts with boards that are then cast in bronze; the golden-gloss version of Shining Ahead is a good example. In addition to the formal dimension, the sculptures radiate a spiritual power, something focused, contemplative, internal, present within oneself. Schaumberger's current works are diametrically opposed to his previous welded steel sculptures, which were characterized by dynamism, openness, and violent expressiveness.

Kapitola „Na počiatku bol koniec...“ aktuálnej výstavy „Vrátil jsem se zpět, i když jsme si nechyběli“ predstavuje ranú tvorbu Lubomira Typlta.
Zahŕňa ikonické diela, akými sú Králík v lihu (1996), série mŕtvych mačiek a vtákov, ale aj obraz Kluk s kočkou (1997), ktorý sa stal archetypálnym východiskom pre neskorší motív chlapca s mačkou.
Popri prirodzene sa vynárajúcich otázkach pominuteľnosti sa Typlt – ktorý na prelome milénia začal popri motíve visiacich mačiek po prvýkrát vnášať do svojich obrazov ľudské postavy – zaoberá aj tým, čo zobrazovaným situáciám predchádzalo, kto za ne nesie zodpovednosť a prečo sa vôbec odohrali.
Otázku, čo sa od maľby očakáva a čo je schopná sprostredkovať - či už v kontexte konania, viny alebo provokácie, diskutoval Lubomír Typlt aj so svojím svetoznámym profesorom A. R. Penckom počas štúdia na Kunstakademie Düsseldorf.
Nedávať odpovede na to, čo sa na jeho obrazoch deje alebo čo zobrazovaným situáciám predchádzalo, je charakteristickým znakom Typltovej maliarskej tvorby, ktorému zostáva verný dodnes.

The chapter ‘In the beginning was the end...’ of our current exhibition ‘I Came Back, Though We Didn’t Miss Each Other’ is about Lubomir Typlt’s early work.
It features iconic works such as ‘Rabbit in a Jar’ (1996), as well as Lubomir Typlt’s dead cats and birds, and the painting ‘Boy with a Cat’ (1997), which became the archetypal foundation for later motifs of the boy with the cat.
Alongside the natural questions of transience, Typlt – who, around the turn of the millennium, began to introduce figures into his paintings for the first time alongside his motifs of hanging cats – also explores the themes of what might have preceded the depicted situations, who bears responsibility for them, and why they occurred in the first place.
What is expected of painting, and what it is capable of communicating in the context of action, guilt and provocation, was a question that Lubomir Typlt also discussed with his world-renowned professor, A.R. Penck, in the German artist's former class at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf.
The principle of not providing answers as to what happens in his paintings or what preceded them is a characteristic of Lubomír Typlt’s painting, to which he has remained true to this day.

Vybrané diela 8 umelcov z Číny

Predstavujeme prvú z ôsmich osobností výstavy - Chen Qingqing.

Patrí medzi najvýznamnejšie predstaviteľky čínskeho feministického umenia. Jej cesta k výtvarnej tvorbe bola netradičná, študovala tradičnú čínsku medicínu v Pekingu a literatúru vo Viedni. Profesionálne sa umeniu venuje od roku 1986. Vo svojej tvorbe dokáže citlivo a poeticky spracovať aj náročné témy. Využíva pritom osobitý výtvarný jazyk, ktorý spája jemnosť s výraznou výpoveďou. Od roku 1994 sa venuje inštaláciám a textilnému umeniu, neskôr rozšírila svoju tvorbu aj o performance. Žije a tvorí v Songzhuang.

We are pleased to introduce the first of the eight artists featured in the exhibition – Chen Qingqing.
She is one of the leading representatives of Chinese feminist art. Her path to artistic practice was unconventional: she studied traditional Chinese medicine in Beijing and literature in Vienna. She has been working as a professional artist since 1986.
In her work, she addresses complex themes with sensitivity and poetic expression. Her distinctive artistic language combines delicacy with a powerful message. Since 1994, she has focused on installation and fiber art, later expanding her practice to include performance art. She lives and works in Songzhuang.

🐞 AKO ŽIVÉ | od dnes v Danubiane
Pamätáte si ten úžasný pocit, keď ste ako deti listovali encyklopédiami a fascinovane skúmali každý detail motýlieho krídla, vtáčieho pierka či lesného listu? Výstava Ako živé vás vráti k tomuto objavovaniu. Od dnes môžete obdivovať výnimočné ilustrácie Jána Šveca - majstra vedeckej kresby, ktorý dokázal s neuveriteľnou presnosťou zachytiť svet zvierat, rastlín, hornín aj hmyzu. Jeho diela vznikali často v mierke 1:1, s použitím akrylu, tušu, akvarelu či grafitu, neraz pod lupou a počas dlhých hodín sústredenej práce.
Výstava predstavuje ilustrácie, ktoré poznajú celé generácie čitateľov z kníh ako Naše vtáky, Z ríše hmyzu či Akvárium v kocke. Sú také prirodzené a presvedčivé, že si často ani neuvedomujeme virtuozitu, ktorá sa za nimi skrýva.

Do you remember the fascination of leafing through encyclopedias as a child, discovering every detail of a butterfly’s wing, a bird’s feather, or a forest leaf? The exhibition "Like Real" brings that sense of wonder back to life.
From today, visitors can explore the remarkable work of Ján Švec, a master of scientific illustration whose drawings captured animals, plants, minerals, and insects with extraordinary precision. Working in acrylic, ink, watercolor, and graphite, he often created illustrations at a 1:1 scale, spending countless hours perfecting even the tiniest details - sometimes under a magnifying glass.
The exhibition presents illustrations familiar to generations of readers from books such as Our Birds, From the World of Insects, and Aquarium in a Cube. Their realism feels effortless, yet behind each image lies exceptional skill, patience, and artistry.

Vybrané diela ôsmich umelcov, od časom overeného tušu a oleja až po rozmarné sochy a inštalácie, ukazujú vplyv čínskej tradície na ich tvorbu za posledných 25 rokov. Ich umenie stojí samo o sebe, nie je napodobňované ani odmietané, ale zakorenené v čínskej kultúre, neodtrháva sa od nej, ale ukazuje to, čo ich robí nezameniteľnými.

Selected works of eight artists, ranging from time-honored ink and oil to whimsical sculpture and installation art, show the impact of Chinese tradition on their work over the last 25 years. Their art stands on its own, not imitation or rejection, but grounded in Chinese culture, not breaking from it but showing what makes them unmistakably themselves.

Svet umenia prišiel o jedného zo svojich veľkých rozprávačov. David Hockney svojimi obrazmi premieňal obyčajné okamihy na výnimočné a nachádzal krásu tam, kde ju iní prehliadali. Jeho tvorba zostáva trvalou súčasťou dejín umenia a zdrojom inšpirácie pre ďalšie generácie.
Česť jeho pamiatke a jeho trvalému odkazu vo svete umenia.

Objavte tvorbu významného slovenského ilustrátora, grafika a výtvarníka Jána Šveca, ktorý sa preslávil najmä ilustráciami náučných kníh o prírode a svojou dlhoročnou prácou vo vydavateľstve Mladé letá.
Výstava predstaví jeho menej známu voľnú tvorbu: originálne diela plné optických ilúzií, geometrických tvarov a konštruktivistických prvkov, ktoré dodnes fascinujú svojou nadčasovosťou.
