This spring was about transition — starting with a residency in the woods and turning into a tour through Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, and Hungary with eight incredible creators from totally different backgrounds and fields. Everyone brought their own stories, questions, and energy into the mix.
HOLY WEEK became a kind of experiment — part performance, part ritual, part community gathering. The idea was to play with Easter traditions: to see what happens when we rethink old customs and bring people together in new ways. Along the way, we connected with local people in the Visegrad region, and the project kept shifting as we went — no fixed shape, just something alive that kept growing.
The final performance was never really final. It kept evolving, picking up traces from each place and each moment. We’re grateful for everyone who joined, hosted, shared food, stories, and space with us.
Huge thanks to the creators who made this whole thing what it was: Jana Ambrózová, Jeries AbuJaber, Csilla Bartus, Magdalena Franczak, Kasha Potrohosh, Maciej Polynko, Yu En-Ping
Facilitator: Bíborka Béres
Backend: Sanna Bo
And to our amazing partners for their warmth and support:
DDK Weglin (Lublin, PL), Cross Attic (Prague, CZ) & Terén (Brno, CZ), and OOO (Bratislava, SK)
We’ll carry this one with us for a while.
