🇸🇮 NIKO NOVAK (Ljubljana/Berlin) na Monošus 2026!
Temni, filmski urbani blues izpod prstov veterana slovenske underground scene.
Niko Novak že več kot tri desetletja pušča svoj pečat na alternativnih odrih Ljubljane in Berlina. V devetdesetih je bil pevec in frontman garažnega punk rock benda Dicky B. Hardy, ki je koncertiral po Evropi in ZDA ter izdal tri albume. Kasneje je kot polovica kultnega dvojca Incurabili ustvarjal psihedelični urbani blues in nastopal vse do Argentine.
Danes Niko nastopa solo – oborožen zgolj z bas kitaro in svojim prepoznavnim baritonom. Njegove pesmi so temačne, intimne in atmosferične. Zgodbe o nočnih barih, neonskih lučeh, jutrih po dolgih nočeh in ljudeh, ki iščejo nekaj več v svetu, polnem razbitin in lepote.
Pesnik absurda, nedeljskih melanholij in poznih ur, vedno z rahlo črno-humorno noto. Njegove skladbe imajo izrazito filmski značaj, kar ni presenetljivo, saj že vrsto let deluje tudi na področju filma.
Njegov najnovejši album »Haphazard Reruns« je nastal v Londonu pod produkcijsko taktirko Jima Jonesa (Thee Hypnotics, Jim Jones R***e) in nadaljuje uspešno sodelovanje, začeto z albumoma »Pankow« (2020) in »Sentimental Drivel« (2022).

Dark cinematic urban blues from a veteran of the Slovenian underground scene.
For more than three decades, Niko Novak has been leaving his distinctive mark on the underground scenes of Ljubljana and Berlin. In the 1990s he was the singer and frontman of the garage punk rock band Dicky B. Hardy, touring extensively across Europe and the USA and releasing three albums. Later, as one half of the cult art-terror duo Incurabili, he explored psychedelic urban blues and performed as far away as Argentina.
Today, Niko performs solo, armed only with his bass guitar and unmistakable baritone voice. His songs are intense, mysterious and haunting — tales of neon-lit nights, smoky bars and the fragile moments that follow.
A poet of the absurd, late nights and gloomy Sundays, always infused with a dark sense of humour, Niko creates songs that balance introspection with a longing for something better. His long-standing work in film is reflected in the cinematic quality of his music, each song unfolding like a scene from a forgotten movie.
His latest album, “Haphazard Reruns”, was recorded in London with producer Jim Jones (Thee Hypnotics, Jim Jones R***e) and a group of top studio musicians, continuing a collaboration that began with “Pankow” (2020) and “Sentimental Drivel” (2022).
