Animateka je mednarodni festival animiranega filma, ki ga vsako leto v začetku decembra pripravljamo v sodelovanju z ljubljanskim Kinodvorom in Slovensko kinoteko. Festival se osredotoča predvsem na najnovejšo produkcijo kratkometražnega animiranega filma v Vzhodni in Srednji Evropi, predstavlja pa tudi pester nabor posebnih programov, ki gledalcu omogočijo globlji vpogled v nastanek in razvoj ani

macije, ter mu ponudijo kratek svetovni pregled najboljših novih animiranih filmov.

Animateka, a week-long international festival of animated film, takes place every year in Ljubljana’s Kinodvor and Slovenska kinoteka. Starting in the beginning of December it focuses primarily on the latest production of East and Central European short films. It also includes a wide range of special programmes, which offer the audiences an insight into the beginnings and the development of animation, and present them with a short overview of the best contemporary animations on a worldwide scale.

Just recently, our teams from Anifilm, Animafest Zagreb, Fest Anca, Animest , and Animateka gathered in Zagreb for an in-person meeting to share updates, dream up new projects, nurture ongoing ones, and strengthen our bond as the Animation Festival Network. 💛

We received 320 submissions for The Elephant in Competition Programme. From all the submitted films, we carefully selected the most exciting and compelling works that will delight young audiences and take them on journeys through diverse, imaginative and magical worlds of animation.

We got a record number of submissions this year!!! Yeah!! 1032 all in total. 299 for Main Competition, 386 for European Young Talent competition, 320 for Elephant in Competition and 27 for VR@Animateka competition programme. Super excited!
