Storytime about coming to Brussels:

TLDR: Zoja forgot about Iva visiting her.

A traveler, let's call her Iva, has been traveling for hours, exhausted. She finally arrives at the airport and sends a text to her friend Zoja, who she's planning to visit in Brussels.

But instead of a warm welcome, she receives a confusing response: "Are you joking?" Iva is like, "Um, no? Are you joking? I'm here!" Zoja thought Iva was arriving the next day! 🫣

Now, at this point, Iva is feeling a mix of frustration and disbelief. She's traveled all this way and her friend didn't even remember the right day?

Iva is mortified, but she has no choice but to soldier on. She manages to find the right train and eventually makes it to Zoja's place.

Despite the rocky start, Iva and Zoja have a great time hanging out in Brussels. They visit all the tourist spots, eat lots of delicious food, and make plenty of memories. And every time they tell the story of Iva's arrival, they both burst out laughing - because sometimes the best memories come from the most unexpected moments. ✨

What did Iva learn in this story? To make better friends. But nevertheless she still loves Zoja tho. ❤️

My opus consists of photography of brutalist buildings. No architectural style evokes emotional reactions like brutalism. Brutalistic buildings are known to be depressing and oppressive and have a place on the list of "ugliest buildings in the world". 💔

Why did I choose this topic?

Concrete buildings tell us their story - through the brown stains caused by leaking joints of metal reinforcements. Through the graffiti they wear. Because of the innovative usability found by skaters and parkour performers. The buildings tell many stories, which I would like to present.

I don't want to show brutalistic buildings as concrete monsters destroying our cities, but as heroic, modern sculptures from the pre-digital age.
