Presented by Dance Nucleus in collaboration with Performance Space and in association with cont.act Contemporary Dance Festival 2026 by T.H.E Dance Company, LATITUDES builds on a decade of artistic exchange between Singapore and Australia.

The inaugural edition features two new and innovative works by the region’s artists-to-watch:

🔸Norhaizad Adam with Hasyimah Harith (Singapore)

𝘉𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘩𝘪: 𝘏𝘰𝘭𝘺 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 explores the delicate interplay between attraction and decorum from the flicker of subtle charm to the bold expression of “berahi” (sexual arousal in Malay).

𝘓𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴 is a solo dance work that intricately weaves dance and text to make sensuous the ways our bodies entangle us with the world.

SCOPE is a studio presentation series organised by Dance Nucleus, in which independent artists share the ideas and processes behind their recent creative projects. The participation of Justine Berthillot is supported by the Embassy of France in Singapore.

Free admission. Suggested donation of $5. Proceeds go directly into supporting independent performance makers via Dance Nucleus programmes.

OPEN CALL

Dance Nucleus is offering 50 hours of free studio use each to eight independent, Singapore-based performance projects that embrace an experimental approach to performance and choreography.
Successful applicants will be required to submit a short bio, write up of their project and visual for publicity and documentation purposes.

Studio Sharing / Working Period: 18 June 2026 - 27 September 2026

❗️Compulsory briefing for all selected participants: 17 June (After 6pm at DN’s SCOPE programme)

Each year, Dance Nucleus invites Associate Artists from Singapore to deepen their research and artistic practice with our support.

Beyond presentations on our signature platforms VECTOR, SCOPE, and the upcoming LATITUDES, Associate Artists gain further development through ARTEFACT and ELEMENT residencies with international partners, da:nsLAB coaching, and the new DOMAIN programme.

This year, we’re excited to work closely with the following artists, some of whom we had the privilege to support over the years:

❗️We are inviting 12 independent performance makers from the Asia-Pacific to form our 6th cohort. Applications are open from 9th MAR to 30th APR 2026.

[CP]³ is an online mentoring for the development of critical praxes in contemporary choreography and performance making, with a focus on the Asian context.

Led by Daniel Kok (Singapore), the 5-month programme (22nd JUN to 27th NOV 2026) consists of lectures and mentorship sessions by mentors Arco Renz, Eisa Jocson (Manila), Luke George (Melbourne), Padmini Chettur (Chennai), Pichet Klunchun (Bangkok), Melati Suryodarmo (Surakarta), Nanako Nakajima (PhD, Kyoto), and Xiaoke x Zihan (Shanghai).

📎 In this trans-local exchange, Dance Nucleus partnered with Performance Space (Sydney) to facilitate an artist exchange between Singapore and Australia. Natalie Tso [Sydney] was hosted by Dance Nucleus to visit Singapore for a residency and conduct a studio presentation at SCOPE in January 2026. XUE (Singapore) and her collaborator Razan Wirjosandjojo [Surakarta) were hosted by Performance Space in October 2025 to visit Liveworks Festival 2025 and take part in the Asia-Pacific Performance Lab at Bundanon Trust where they engaged in individual research, exclusive training, and peer-exchange alongside other international choreographers.

📎 In this exchange, Dance Nucleus is partnering with NEW FEARS Gallery (Berlin) to host Berlin-based artist and curator July Weber in Singapore for a collaborative community programme, including a participatory performance event and a public presentation. The project aims to foster artistic exchange, support independent artists, and explore sustainable, self-organised models of community building across Singapore, Berlin, and Bangkok.

📣 Open Call: 1-Min Performances Marathon

🔸Dancing With Fears 🔸

As part of SCOPE in January 2026, Dance Nucleus is holding a performance marathon consisting of 1-min
performances.

We are looking for 20 independent performance makers in Singapore to each make a 1-min performance in
response to the theme, Dancing with Fears.

Participants may interpret the theme freely. The performance does not have to be a dance - It could be abstract, literal and everything in-between.

All 1-min performances will take place right after each other and in this way create a bigger body of works.
