πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠSome celebrations are a little more personal πŸ₯°πŸ˜Œ
I had the honour of hosting an 80th birthday celebration for a couple who had built a lovely and boutiful life together, with family, long-time friends, colleagues and business partners. It was a fulfilling experience to help everyone come together to celebrate another milestone in their lives.
In a celebration like this, where audiences come from various backgrounds and are in the presence of unfamiliar faces, one might find it more difficult to leave niceties and formalities by the door to have a more immersive celebration. This is where the host's icebreaking comes in; warming people up and pulling down masks to help everyone come together hand-in-hand and heart-to-heart.

🀡BLACK-TIE🀡
When a dress-code says "Black-Tie", it means tuxedos for men. (A tuxedo is generally distinguished by the satin lapel on the jacket). No two ways about it.
As a professional event host, it is paramount that I recognise and respect dress codes as I will present myself as the face of the event. The emcee must know the tone of the event, which is also in-part conveyed via the dress code.
An interesting fact is that the tuxedo in this picture was made for my wedding. A few years in (and after 2 children), it's still a blessing that I'm able to fit in it (albeit a bit too snugly).

1,070 hungry guests. One emcee. Let's go. πŸŽ€πŸ˜„

Last Friday I had the pleasure of hosting the Association of Catering Professionals Singapore (ACAPS) Gala Dinner β€” a massive evening of 1,070 guests, good food, great company, and let's be honest... a LOT of catching up, networking, and clinking glasses happening all at once. πŸ₯‚

Now here's the thing about a big industry gala β€” when you've got over a thousand catering professionals in a room, they know everyone. The conversations are flowing before the first course even arrives, and getting that crowd settled and focused for the opening address? That's where things get interesting. πŸ˜…

Fortunately, with a bit of finesse and a few tricks of the trade, the room came together beautifully. There's something I've always believed β€” when the stage has the right energy, people are naturally drawn to it. The conversations pause, the glasses are set down, and the crowd turns. Getting there is the craft, and on Friday night, I'm glad it all came together in time for our VIPs to receive the full, undivided attention their welcome remarks deserved. πŸ™Œ

Congratulations to the Association of Catering Professionals Singapore on a spectacular evening! πŸŽ‰

Also, a huge shoutout to Patrick Chan, Belicia Tan and Kelvin Ng for your faith in me and recommendations to the committee! πŸ™πŸ™

When your audience is 50% Gen Z?? 🀯🀯
Get ready for the party of your life!
I had the honour and pleasure of hosting MCI's Annual Dinner & Dance: Rising Stars earlier this year. 🀩🀩🀩
With a SUPER young and youthful crowd, the party was off the charts right from the start! On top of the Gen Z energy, DJ kept the music pumping which meant that the party had no way of stopping 😡😡😡. We were way spent at the end of the night, this meant what's left behind is a room full of memories that will carry us towards continued excellence for the rest of the year. OPA! 🍽️🍽️🍽️
Thank you MCI Singapore for such an unforgettable evening! I hope to see you guys again next year! πŸ”₯πŸ’―

Spending εˆδΊ” (the fifth day of CNY) at the West Coast condo hop with .lee and .sg! Although I only had to join them for 2 of their 20+ visits, it was lovely to see the Kampung spirit as the condo residents gathering to share in the festivities and usher in the year of the Horse! 🐴 HUAT AH! πŸŽŠπŸ§§πŸŽ‰
