Gazing Power Wash

Believe or not, I actually eyed The Kallang as a potential spot for the Heart of Mountbatten before settling just outside Mountbatten MRT😳

A place where sports meets arts and performance..

A place where I personally hold many fond memories as an ex-water polo youth team player and now triathlete..

I think most Singaporeans would also agree that many have been there to join a run club, see a concert, hang out with friends, etc.

A fitting place for a Heart of the community there😘

This idea was ultimately scrapped though when I found out that The Kallang is part of Jalan Besar GRC which I have already spawned a heart in😅

But Ladies and Gentlemen..

Power washing art has arrived at The Kallang in time for Singapore Tennis Open , commissioned by ASICS Singapore 🥳

A mural of many firsts for me:

- Power washing art on concrete pavers
- Using stencils for ASICS & STO branding
- Switching locations mid-project
- Bringing in my second power washer to power wash the delicate pavers
- Showing up to work for multiple days after 2-3 hours of training beforehand😩
- Private live power washing activation😏
- Designing a tote bag for ASICS & Singapore Tennis Open
- Designing a sticker for The Kallang App

What a project it has turned out to be😵‍💫

With many grander feats with ASICS Singapore soon

The mural is located at Break Point Garden while Singapore Tennis Open is still on going until 27 Sep. Free entry but bag checks required.

Thereafter, the mural will stay indefinitely until it fades back to normal or someone washes it away. (Please don’t🙏🏻)

It’s officially been 3 months since the “Heart of Mountbatten” saga and what a journey it has been😵‍💫

I’ve met so many influential people from Ministers..

To Media Artistes I grew up listening/watching..

To Change Makers past, present and future..

Not to mention the numerous features from various news outlets all wanting a piece of the pie😅

As much as I appreciate the recognition, I think it’s more important to recognise who provided me with these opportunities in the first place☝🏻

What a privilege to turn that around and be an influence to the youth of Philippines CITY HARVEST CHURCH-SHEKINAH and CHC Fairview, Novaliches

My first, and certainly not last, mission trip to Philippines!🥹

I shared my testimony of how God transformed me from a bullied, shy and low self-esteemed individual to who I am today..

A Man of God and of my Family

Not only that, I preached about “How to make Dreams come true”

Why 94% of us will never see our dreams be reality in our lifetime🤯

And how we can be part of the 6%..

It will be HARD, it will be DIFFICULT..

But nothing great ever comes easy😤

With that, I left Philippines with this message:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

Playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We were all meant to shine as children of God do.

It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same as we are liberated from our own fear.

Our presence automatically liberates others.”

Introducing Typography🎉

One of the few art forms Gazing Power Wash will practice and master💪🏻

One of the feedback my community has been providing me is to do lots of motivational quotes around Marine Parade🥰

Simple✅
Impactful✅
Less time consuming✅

While I do agree with that, I tend to lean towards quality over quantity.

Sure, I can use my basic, freehand arial font to freehand many motivational messages all across my community..

But it’s no better than the AI slop all over Singapore💩

There needs to be soul and effort in every guerilla power washing art piece I do.

If not, that’s considered vandalism😗

It devalues a pavement.

Hustle. Loyalty.

But more importantly, Respct the pavement & others🫡

The Power Washing Guy has returned.

And I’m gonna fix my part-timing, inconsistent social media crap💩

I took a step back from social media the last 21 days as I’ve had some personal challenges over the past month to deal with:

- Family relationships & responsibilities
- Equipment failure & repairs
- Moving into my 2nd rental apartment with my brothers
- Training for
- Multiple client projects

I was definitely burnt out after going viral and bit off more than I could chew🫠

My sleep has not been great the last couple of months but I’m getting the appropriate therapy I need🙏🏻

In any case..

I’m starting my mission to spawn a🫀in every constituency in Singapore because this is what makes me happy🥹

Starting with my home at Marine Parade-Braddell Heights GRC❤️

Another masterpiece gone just like that😭

Even commissioned and approved projects are not safe from internal miscomms😖

Why is it so hard to just ask: “Are you sure?” or “Can double confirm?” if you are tasked to do something that feels off..

Lesson learnt on my end?

Come back the next day after the mural is completed to take photo and videos😮‍💨

This year’s edition of Walk for Good: (re)Discovering Marine Parade was not about the attention to my brand nor recognition, it was simply about giving back to the community.

I revitalised for FREE even though I could not get any sponsors.

I didn’t need a follow or shoutout on social media.

The smiles of the participants was more than enough.

I’m blessed that I can be a prominent pillar in Marine Parade’s art scene😙

Knowing that I make a visible difference..

Inspiring others through my conversations..

A follow or shoutout can never beat this feeling🙃

10y/o me would have never imagined 24y/o him doing art full time🥹

He would have thought I would be a professional golfer or doctor😅

It’s disappointing to know that “Everyone is an artist until rent is due.”😢

How many people would have been revolutionary artists, musicians or inventors but gave it up because of finances?

I hope to keep doing what I do by making this a full-time career💪🏻

What a privilege to race with the pros and (not so) amateur athletes from all around the world😊

For the first time in my life, I said the words: “Hotel booking for Marcus Pang”.

All expenses paid, mom was just there to enjoy the vacation and support me🥹

Ready for action😙

Unfortunately, the swim was cut short to 1km due to strong currents.

But as an ex-water polo player, I knew I would have no trouble🙂‍↔️ (foreshadowing)

Ate 💩(sand) at the last 100m of the swim.

Waves were just NO GO that day🙅🏻‍♂️

But I adapted well by swimming backstroke😛

Surprisingly, my swim was a 2:01/100m despite the turbulent waves🫪

Swam backstroke I think 40% of the course as I just could not keep my freestyle rhythm.

Heart rate only spiked when I got washed up by a wave and panicked because I could not surface for 10s before another wave hit😓

Decided to walk to T1 to calm myself down before hopping onto the bike.

Bike ride was wonderful, I kinda forgot I was racing😅

But when I dismounted and started running with my bike to T2, I knew something was wrong.

There was a sharp pain in my right foot.

To my horror..🫣

My right foot was swollen and I was struggling to put my right shoe on.

Thankfully, a staff handed me 2 packs of ice to help ease the swelling.

I think I spent 5 extra minutes at T2 to ice my foot before deciding to push on💪🏻

Started off slow at 6:20/km to see if the pain from my swollen foot subsided.

Thankfully, at KM3, it did!

And I slowly picked up the pace to 5:40/km and subsequently 5:15/km on the second half of the run.

Even had plenty of energy left in the tank to go 4:40/km in the last 2km🔥

Call Security🚨

Call the Police👮🏻‍♀️

Call yo’ Mama👩🏼

The Power Washing Artist from Singapore just finished a Half Ironman strong.

So.. Ironman Langkawi next?🤔
