Be mesmerised by the Singapore premiere of “Of Living & Dying”. We are deeply grateful for the wonderful response and the full house as we enter the final stage of development and rehearsals for this special production.

Dr Danny Tan and Mr Fajar Satriadi will perform alongside the ODT Music Ensemble, bringing together musicians from Singapore and Indonesia. Through contemporary dance, live music and multidisciplinary collaboration, the production brings movement and sound together in a compelling exploration of memory, impermanence and humanity.

With just two days to go, the full artistic team is looking forward to welcoming our guests and audiences to the University Cultural Centre Theatre on 25 August 2026. We are excited to share the culmination of this creative journey together.

💃 𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 | 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗜𝗡 𝗗𝗔 𝗡𝗔𝗡𝗚

Dr Danny enjoyed a series of wonderful meetings with friends and collaborators in Da Nang, Vietnam. Over the past three years, he has been grateful for their steadfast support and belief in developing projects across Singapore, Da Nang and other Asian cities. It was especially meaningful to reconnect with Linh and congratulate her on her recent successful performance with ODT’s “12 Seasons” at Victoria Theatre this June.

Congratulations also to Minh on opening his third dance studio and continuing his commitment to nurturing youth through dance. Dr Danny was pleased to witness the opening of his second studio two years ago and to follow his growing journey in arts entrepreneurship. It was equally heartwarming to meet Mr Lai, Head of Dance at Da Nang College of Performing Arts, whose college has warmly embraced ODT through several collaborations over the past year.

The visit also provided an opportunity to reconnect with a young dance artist who will be involved in Dr Danny’s upcoming major work, “Dual Echoes”, this November. Having witnessed his growth over the past two years, including his participation in our Xposition project in Hoi An last year, Dr Danny looks forward to continuing this artistic journey together and developing further collaborative works across the region.

We thank Solo International Performing Arts for hosting today’s showcase and dialogue on “Of Living & Dying”. The session allows us to share the creative process behind the work before its Singapore premiere.

We look forward to engaging the arts community and tracing the work’s development from its world premiere in 2025 to its recent presentation at the Bandung Arts Festival and its next stage in Singapore.

This sharing session concludes the final phase of our creative research and rehearsals with Danny Tan and Fajar Satriadi. We look forward to meeting friends and exchanging perspectives at this afternoon’s gathering.

We were impressed by the Bandung Arts Festival, a bottom-up initiative created and run by artists. Sustained across 12 editions through a shared love for the arts and community spirit, the festival shows what artists can achieve together without a large production budget.

Its extensive programme included exhibitions, dance workshops, mass dancing, a parade, theatre and outdoor performances. The level of public participation demonstrated how the arts can bring people together and create a lasting impact within the community.

We thank the festival for welcoming us into its community. The warmth, kindness and close interaction created genuine bonds between the artists and the public, and we look forward to returning.

We are grateful for the opportunity to present “Of Living & Dying” at the 12th Bandung Arts Festival 2026. Presented before an outdoor audience of more than 1,000, the work captivated the crowd and was well received.

The festival organiser and arts community praised the work’s commanding stage presence and its contribution to the festival programme. We also thank the festival for providing the production support and equipment needed to meet the demands of the outdoor presentation.

The response in Bandung affirmed the strength of this collaboration between Singaporean and Indonesian artists. We carry these moments forward as “Of Living & Dying” continues its journey to Singapore.

Following the successful World Premiere of “12 Seasons” in June, we are pleased to launch our second major dance season of 2026. “Of Living & Dying” will take centre stage this August, continuing our commitment to presenting original Singapore works that connect artistic excellence with humanity, cultural exchange and meaningful reflection.

A compelling duet by acclaimed artists Mr Fajar Satriadi from Indonesia and Dr Danny Tan from Singapore, “Of Living & Dying” blends Asian contemporary dance, live music and immersive visual landscapes. Accompanied by the ODT Music Ensemble and guest musicians from Indonesia, the multidisciplinary work explores memory, impermanence and humanity through a poetic journey across time and space. Following its World Premiere at the Solo International Performing Arts Festival 2025 and its presentation at the 12th Bandung Arts Festival 2026, the production now returns home for its Singapore Premiere.
