Aliwal Arts Centre opened its doors on 3rd June 2013. It is a multi-disciplinary arts centre with a strong focus on performing arts located at the former Chong Cheng and Chong Pun Schools at 28 Aliwal Street within the Kampong Glam conservation district. Offering a conducive environment to support the artistic development of eighteen (18) tenants both from contemporary and traditional arts groups,
two (2) creative businesses, and two (2) F&B outlets, Aliwal Arts Centre draws influences from the rich cultural heritage in the area. Within the building are seven (7) shared facilities for venue hire rental to the arts community including a performance space, multi-purpose rooms, music studios, storage rooms, and a shared office with seventeen (17) cubicles. These venues are in an environment of old school charm and within a cultural district which provide the perfect setting for inspiration and creative work.
