Over the past season, our journey at ONE Choral Company has been defined not just by the stages we stepped on, but by the quiet spaces, international friendships, and shared moments of human connection that continue to shape who we are becoming.
Building Bridges Around the Globe:
We opened our season sharing Singapore's sound at the Temasek Foundation Asia Leaders Connect before heading to Europe. Standing as a finalist at the prestigious 16th Gallus - Maribor International Choral Competition in Slovenia challenged our technical limits, while performing at the International Youth Choir Festival ''Aegis carminis'', Koper-Slovenia and learning alongside Slovenian expert Ambrož Čopi renewed our pure joy for the art. Thereafter, our Poland Performance Tour in June 2026 tested us as cultural ambassadors. We remain deeply grateful to Aleksandra Topór, Władysław Pachota, the choristers of Puellae Orantes, and the warm people of Poland for opening their hearts and historic venues to us.
Nurturing Our Home Community:
Back home, we focused on nurturing the ecosystem that sustains us. We shared the stage with our long-time friends at the Song Lovers Choral Society and brought festive carols directly to the public at Pan Pacific Singapore. Through our school choral programme, the CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls' School Choir brought live choral music to Tan Tock Seng Hospital’s The Art of Healing initiative which is a quiet, powerful reminder of our social responsibility to bring solace to healthcare workers, patients, and families.
Refining the Craft & Inspiring New Voices:
Growth also meant turning inward. We hosted March holiday workshops for school choirs, led the Beyond the Baton conducting course with Dr. Gene Peterson, and launched our very first Cornerstone open session with Artistic Director Ai Hooi Lim which created an open, welcoming space for singers from all walks of life to experience OCC.
Leading the Industry into the Future:
We capped our year by hosting nearly 3,700 singers for the 10th Singapore International Choral Festival, marking a historic collaboration with the International Federation for Choral Music IFCM as a satellite event for World Symposium on Choral Music (WSCM) 2026. We pushed creative boundaries with ONE Chamber Choir at home through the concept crafted by Creative Director Dawn Yin via 7byONE: id/ID, a multidisciplinary concert fusing live choral singing with live visual art by illustrator Virginia Goh. We were also grateful for being able to represent Singapore’s multicultural identity through ConnexionSG's Pledge60 feature. Finally, at the WSCM event held in Macau SAR, China, our very own Ai Hooi served as Artistic Director on the WSCM committee while three of our colleagues attended as participants. It was an immense honour to be able to add to Singapore’s voice to global conversations about the future of choral art.
None of these moments happen in isolation; they happen because of a shared belief in the power of the collective voice. To our board members, choristers, donors, collaborators, partners, audience and family members: thank you for walking this path with us as we push toward the next stage of our evolution.
