Additional photos of the Fuji tea box! We were pleasantly surprised at how the wood grain played well with the contours of the mountain (technically volcano), and the textured wrap gave it some contrast and depth.

We’re planning for a new cnc machine soon!

Our cnc machines went for over 700 hours non stop cutting 105 pieces of Fuji tea boxes as one final hurrah before we scrapped both machines!

Australian pine was easy to cut, though warpage was quite a serious thing to contend with. Tool life was much much shorter than expected as well.

Printed a big honking dragon head! The advent of affordable 3D printing really killed off a lot of vacuum forming work and it’s been a godsend. It’s not as good a finish as vacuum formed ABS, and not as durable as well but the speed and price really can’t be matched.

Probably my favourite project of the year, and definitely the most challenging with 7 failures to achieve 5 successful resin casts. With 19 unforgiving steps in a specific sequence to do, I’m mostly glad I managed to pull it off and not lose my sanity.
