About the Founders
Jonathan & Peggie started dancing together in 1975, where folk dancing was the first dance that they have come in touch with. They were undefeated champions in Singapore for almost over a decade. They then moved on to Ballroom Dancing (Latin American Dancesport) in 1987, a dance form which requires extreme intensive training. They then competed across the world from 1988 to 199
3 and clinched several awards such as 2nd place in the Hong Kong International Dance Championships under the Latin Amateur Couple Category. They have been teaching Social and Latin American dances at various community centres since 1988, and Line Dancing in 1998 long before it became popular. In 2001, they received an award from The People's Association for 20 years of service. In 1995, they were appointed by SBC (current MediaCorp) to teach Cha Cha Cha, Rock and Roll and Disco Rock in a TV magazine program which ran for 10 weeks on Channel 8. From 2000 to 2004, Jonathan was appointed by Mr Johnny Quek to be the resident Line Dancing instructor at Dynasty Ballroom. In 2002, they turned Professional and founded Jonathan & Peggie Dance Studio. Over the years, they continue to upgrade their skills by attending workshops in the U.K. and engaging international professional dancers in training sessions. Not only do they learn and teach, they are also appointed adjudicators in local and international dance competitions. Dancing has been their passion and devotion for the past few decades. As professional dancers, they constantly push themselves to greater heights in their career and train their students to pursue high standards in dance performance skills and technique. Many of their students have won competitions and many have ascertained that they attained better health, coordination and social skills since they started dancing with them. The dedication of Jonathan & Peggie to improve the lives and well-being of others can be testified through their long-standing brand, and they are excited to bring their name further through the generations with their influential teachings and strong culture of discipline, perseverance and passion.
