In a society that celebrates caregivers for their selflessness, we rarely ask — at what cost?

Era Dance Theatre's latest production takes you on an intimate and unflinching journey into the world of caregiving. Following a group of caregivers from their initial dedication through to the edge of collapse, Terang Menyinari, Terbakar Menerangi weaves traditional Malay movement with contemporary choreography to reveal the psychological and physical toll that care work silently demands.

This is not a story of heroes. This is a story of human beings — devoted, exhausted, and deserving of recognition and support.

organised by the Consulate-General of the Republic of Singapore in Chennai.

🙏🏽 With deep appreciation, we acknowledge Apsaras Arts for inviting us once again to collaborate in Anjaneyam, a production we first collaborated on in 2017,
and most recently staged at the Ramayana Festival in Bangkok (July 2024).

🎭 We are truly grateful for this opportunity,
and thrilled to share the stage with such esteemed artists.
