🎺 Call for Clinicians — WBAS Symposium 2026 🎶

The Wind Bands Association of Singapore is pleased to announce the soft launch of the WBAS Symposium 2026, taking place 23–26 July 2026 in Singapore.

We are now inviting clinicians, educators, conductors, and industry practitioners to submit proposals to present at the symposium.

The symposium aims to bring together the wind band community from Singapore and across Asia to exchange ideas, share best practices, and strengthen the future of wind band education, performance, and leadership. Sessions may take the form of clinics, workshops, reading sessions, panel discussions, or demonstration sessions.

We welcome proposals covering areas such as:
• Wind band pedagogy and rehearsal techniques
• Conducting and ensemble leadership
• Repertoire development and programming
• Music education and student development
• Technology in music education
• Band administration and programme management
• Community and amateur band sustainability
• Emerging perspectives in wind band practice

Selected clinicians will be part of a dynamic programme alongside keynote speakers, demonstration bands, networking sessions, and the Singapore International Band Festival (SIBF) Gala Concerts.

From baton basics to composer dialogues and cross‑career meetups—our WBAS Youth Band Festival musicians dove into every facet of music-making. They jammed with the NUS Jazz Band to explore swing, improv, and groove, and connected with string students from the NUS Symphony Orchestra to learn storytelling with music. Swipe to see how conducting classes, chats with Singaporean and Australian composers, and meeting musicians from all walks of life shaped their sound and vision. 🎶✨

Meet Percy Grainger: Australian-born piano prodigy, fearless innovator, and never dull. His masterwork Lincolnshire Posy— packs six folk-song “wildflowers” he collected (1905–06) into vivid portraits of the original singers. Depicted with flexible rhythms, bold colours, and vivid character— hear the music come alive with Zeitwinds, alumni of the WBAS Youth Band Festival. Don’t miss this storytelling-in-sound.
