To kick of our new AOS Collective studio, we have 2 special master class sessions this Saturday, 22 August, Beginner (3pm) & Intermediate (5pm), by our very own AOS member, and National Brand Director of Scratch DJ Academy LLC, dj hapa! The Academy was founded in 2002 by the famed Jam Master Jay from RUN DMC and is his living legacy. With Hapa’s direction, the Academy has grown into the world’s leader in DJ education and continues to raise the standard of DJs around the globe.

Beginner Session
Designed for those looking to get started with DJing and have little to no experience.
Session will be hands-on and will be taught on industry standard gear including but not limited to Technics turntables, Pioneer CDJs, Serato DJ.

We will cover the following:
- Music Theory
- Song Structure
- Rhythm and Timing with basic scratching
- Understanding how to manually beat match
- Basic knowledge of functions and features on hardware and software

ntermediate Session
Designed for those with less than 7 years experience. Students should understand the basic functions and skills of DJing including being able to manually beat match two songs and understand basic song structure and music theory.

We will cover the following:
- Music and file organization
- Troubleshooting on hardware and software
- Strategy for putting together different types of sets for different types of gigs
- Cue point strategy
- Loops and Effects and how and when to use them
