SgSL Space SgSL Space - Theatre arts, Storytelling, Poetry & More in Singapore Sign Language Welcome to SgSL Space! Join us. Let's celebrate every sign, every story.

At the heart of SgSL Space is the vibrant celebration of Singapore Sign Language (SgSL) through the arts. Inspired by the pioneering spirit of ASL Slam, we champion Deaf culture with a fusion of theatre, storytelling, poetry, and more, all in SgSL. Our Mission:
To illuminate the talents of Deaf artists, amplify SgSL narratives, and foster growth within the Deaf arts community. We provide a stage

for expression, share the beauty of sign language through videos, and support artists' creative journeys. A Community of Creativity:
SgSL Space is more than a platform; it's a community where Deaf artists, SgSL learners, and members of the hearing public interested in embracing and supporting Deaf culture come together. Here, every sign (sord) is a story, and every story resonates.

🎭🌅 Performing Arts Showcase: Dance at Dusk

Looking for something different to experience in Singapore’s arts scene?

“Dance at Dusk” is part of the cont·act Dance Festival 2026, featuring contemporary dance performances in an outdoor setting as the sun sets. Contemporary dance often relies heavily on movement, visual expression, space, and storytelling through the body, making it an interesting art form for Deaf audiences to explore.

The programme is guided by an emcee and a Singapore Sign Language (SgSL) interpreter. This venue is wheelchair-accessible. For more information, please check it out.

📅 More information:
Dance at Dusk

For Deaf community members who enjoy visual arts, theatre, movement, or non-verbal storytelling, this may be worth checking out.

If you attend, we’d love to hear your thoughts on the experience and accessibility of the performance. 🤟

What draws bodies together, and what separates them? Dance at Dusk returns with new works by Singaporean choreographers Nah Jieying and Kwek Yixuan, performed by T.H.E Second Company.

✨ Finding confidence through visual theatre ✨

Featured in this year’s Singapore Youth Festival, Hannah, a Primary 6 Deaf student, discovered her voice through the Visual Theatre group, Mayflower Primary School. 🎭

Through movement, expression, creativity, and storytelling, she learned that performing is not only about being seen by others, but also about understanding yourself a little better.

Arts and performance can create powerful spaces for Deaf children and youths to express themselves, build confidence, and connect with others in meaningful ways. 🤟

We hope to see more inclusive opportunities for Deaf youths in the arts community in Singapore. 🌟
