The Balinese world is very structured and one can easily recognize conceptual structures in Wianta's works. Repetition is also present in his works, especially in the details. His dots, for example, are obtained by a unique technique with matches and fully demonstrate how effective and beautiful repetition can be. The dots radiate and pulsate like little jewels.

Teng Nee Cheong’s paintings encompass both figurative works and still lifes, often drawing inspiration from the flora, textiles and rich cultural traditions of Southeast Asia — including wayang kulit, folk tales and literary characters.
His visual language brought together East and West, from Chinese ink painting to the School of Paris, dissolving the boundaries between the two.

The result was a distinctive hybrid expression rooted in the Nanyang tradition — and uniquely his own.

a world overwhelmed by violence. A mother and child anchor the composition, evoking the tenderness and sorrow of a modern-day Pietà. Surrounded by weapons, debris, and signs of collapse, this painting shows how war consumes civilian life. It is a reminder that war is not abstract, it is deeply human, deeply personal, and painfully immediate.
And in the aftermath of violence,
