One of the pieces that is special to the calligraphers is Dream.

Done on a silk with vibrant colours tells us that, everyone can dream and we can afford an expensive one. Our dreams can come in many different colours and languages.

Syaimaa has been present since my first talk on a National platform, The Jameel Prize exhibition in 2015 when she was only a few months old. And today, she is here again witnessing my work with my friends journeying our dreams.

The Inking in Batik exhibition will be here in Jurong Regional Library until 27th of March at Level 4.

3 seats left.

One of the most difficult decision me and the trainer has made throughout our years of teaching many Arabic calligraphy scripts is whether or not we should do a workshop and class on this script.

This script is so close to home but it is not easy to deliver. To teach it to an audience who might not have strong hands for calligraphy will definitely be a challenge. Both for the participant and the trainer. The only easy part is that we can refer the letters directly to the Quran.

2 years ago, we decided to introduce this to students and we were happy with the result. We proceeded to having a small class for Naskh made up of chosen students. We do not have any plans to open the class to more students.

Bringing back the workshop and to public again after 2 years is a challenge. We wanted to see how those who have never hold the qalam before, responds to the session.

We have a few seats left for Naskh workshop. If you know of anyone who might be interested in it, do let them know!

Sini script.

After getting a green light from Hoca to teach an introductory workshop on this script, i will be sharing for the first time to those who have always loved the Sini Script. It has been an amazing journey of being part of Haji Noor deen group of students. Being under his tutelage has open doors of knowledge to this art that i have never imagined i would be experiencing before, alhamdulillah.

Due to my schedule, this workshop can only be done once. So do DM or Whatsapp to the number on the post to register yourself. Thank you.

Barakah.

This particular Mushaf was printed in 1979 in Egypt. As most of you know, my sister collects old Mushaf to be shredded away. But whenever she finds any that are still in good condition and rare, she will always give me a message and asked if i want to get my hands on it. She knows how much i love checking on old Mushaf.

During Uni days, some of my friends love collecting different Mushafs. Especially during Ma'aradh kutub ( book fairs). Ada yang dari Turki ada yang dari Palestin, macam2 lah. I was that one friend yang setia dengan yang satu 😅. Mushaf tu lah juga buat hafal, tu lah juga buat baca, tu lah juga buat reference. Memang kalau tak dijaga tu, boleh lunyai. Bila tengok kawan2 semangat jelajah book fair beli Quran kita pun join sekali.

Lepastu terfikir, what do i do with all these Mushaf. Is it really okay to just leave it on the shelf while i continue using the one i had. Entah macamana 1 hari tu, bila pergi class syeikh, ada student tanya, tak apa ke kalau dia s**a beli2 Mushaf? Korang faham tak feeling tu, bila kita ada benda musykil, tiba2 keluar soalan sama tapi dari lidah org lain. Dia macam " eh, soalan aku ke tu?". Waktu tu syeikh kata, pastikan kita pernah baca setiap Mushaf tu walau sekali.

So this one here, i brought it to my office. Supaya tak dibiar sepi tak berteman. Supaya tak dibiar pergi barakahnya sebelum Tuhan pisahkan roh dari badan.

Intention of Marriage.

I promised some of you that i will be doing this again in september. But september does not seem to be a good month to be able to write extra pieces for this piece.

I will be doing it in August and the number of pieces available is really limited. As much as i want to promise to do this again after a few months, i truly have no idea which month i can breathe more. So, for those of you who have messaged me before, do reach out to me again. I am settling down for now in a small office enough for me to focus on my personal classes and my projects.

After much consideration, i have allocated some time for this Art subscription pieces to be created.

I have never sell my artwork at this price before. This is truly something i felt like i should do for those of you who have been inspired by Islamic Art and would like to own one.

Intention #3.

( saw a few post on parents who lost their child and it reminded me of this post).

While writing the Intention of Marriage by Syeikh Abu Bakar Sakran, intention no 3 was the one that really hit me. After making intention for the love of Allah azza wajalla and Rasulullah Alaihissolatu wassalam, the prayer of a pious child or his intercession if he dies young was brought forward.

It's so beautiful thinking how blessed are these little angels that even if they did not get to see the world can be the reason the parents enter Jannah and how blessed are the parents to be chosen as their parents that if they are patient and they surrender the loss of their child to Allah will be rewarded Jannah.

To those grieving for the loss of their long awaited child, and was not given the chance yet to hold them in your arms or if you have but only for awhile, have faith that they are in the best place they can be.

فيها مالا عين رأت، ولا أذن سمعت، ولا خطر على قلب بشر‏.

A place where no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no human heart has ever perceived.

They are sitting under the blessings of Allah and enjoying themselves in the garden of Jannah while waiting to be reunited with you when the time comes.

Semoga Allah ganti dengan yang lebih baik di dunia ni sambil menunggu janji Allah untuk pertemuan di akhirat sana.

This was a commission piece by someone I could not say no to. The first to support and has always been supporting. I accepted it before my life gets busier with lectures and classes. I sent it in January and they only get to hang it now. Just nice lah, for Raya kan.

Commission pieces have always been special. Every piece is different. You will never find them the same as the others. For this particular piece, i don't even need to include my signature. I left pieces of myself everywhere around it.

It was not written perfectly, but this perfectly depicts me and what i feel while writing it. The tools used, the ink used, the colours chosen and even the medium was not the traditional ones we usually choose.

Jangan tanya k 😂, i will only tell those i think i trust enough. Basically it is for me to know.. And for others to just admire it.

I miss receiving pictures of my own artwork hung up on the wall. But, masa tak mengizinkan kita untuk buat lebih. Sebabtu I choose my client. It has always been a dilemma. If i choose to produce art, means I have to stop teaching. Susah kan?

And also to those who took the extras in Kitabah. I personally love writing the ones in kitabah. Maybe because I've been writing Maghribi for so long already.
