PRODUCER’S MESSAGE

A song is like a sweet cake that can be savoured over and over again…. And that’s what Zubir has done for us. He has created SEMOGA BAHAGIA, and MAJULAH SINGAPURA. He has made songs for us to savour, to form memories, and have these memories be evoked when we listen to them, or sing them, in later years.

The song is a wonderful art form. The songwriter is, to me, the greatest artiste of them all. How does it all happen, that words and music marry and make love for us? What goes on in the minds of the creator, the songwriter? When the song is done, it is eternal, it is indestructible, it lives forever in the hearts and minds of the generations to come. The song is divine.

Zubir is the man we can get to know through his descendants in this Play, SEMOGA BAHAGIA; get to know him, figure him out, listen to him, respect him, and love him. For he has done you a great favour, helped you transform simple words and music notes into beauty in your memory.

SUPERHERO THE MUSICAL!

SUPERHERO tells the story of how an ordinary person becomes a superhero through the selfless act of being a living donor for a liver transplant. Nowadays, liver transplantation is a well-accepted treatment for liver cancer as it removes both the cancer and the underlying risk factor of liver cirrhosis
(hardening). However, there is a shortage of donor livers especially in a small population like Singapore. A living donor helps us overcome this shortage and gives the liver cancer sufferer a new lease of life.
