🐍 Channa xanthic asiatica — Xanthic Chinese Snakehead

The xanthic Channa asiatica is a striking colour form of the Chinese Snakehead, prized for its unusual yellow-gold body coloration compared with the more typical dark coloration of Channa asiatica.

✨ Did You Know?

The word “xanthic” refers to an unusually strong yellow/golden pigmentation. In good specimens, the body can develop beautiful golden-yellow tones while retaining the characteristic patterning of C. asiatica.

🌡️ Temperature: Approximately 18–28°C

⚠️ Temperament: Predatory and territorial

🔥 Important

Like other snakeheads, it is a powerful predator and excellent jumper. A tightly covered aquarium is essential, and tankmates should be chosen very carefully.
