Mural Lingo

Mural Lingo Mural Lingo is a multi-disciplinary platform-studio that works at the intersection of technology and arts.

We aim to create immersive artistic experiences by using a combination of cutting edge technology and captivating mural paintings. Mural Lingo is a Singapore-based creative studio pushing the boundaries of mural art—blending traditional craftsmanship with emerging technology and a strong commitment to sustainability. What began as a personal passion has grown into large-scale collaborations with g

lobal brands like Google, Amazon, and Gucci. With a multidisciplinary approach, the studio creates visual narratives that inspire, engage, and transform spaces. Beyond major commissions, Mural Lingo remains rooted in community. Through social murals, interactive workshops, and live art events, the studio brings people together and encourages meaningful participation. Whether it’s a collaborative mural addressing social issues, an art workshop that builds creative confidence, or a live painting that sparks joy and dialogue, Mural Lingo believes in the power of art to foster connection. With over a decade of experience, the studio continues to make art accessible, relevant, and a force for positive change. With roots in education, placemaking, and cultural storytelling, Mural Lingo works across sectors to bring art into everyday environments. From team-building mural workshops in schools and institutions, to public art that activates underused spaces, every project reflects a deep respect for context and community voice. The studio also helps corporate clients express their brand values through site-specific artworks, and partners with government agencies and non-profits to create murals that highlight heritage, promote sustainability, or inspire civic dialogue. Whether it’s a community mural, a residential feature wall, or an interactive installation, Mural Lingo approaches each project with the same intent: to create work that is bold, inclusive, and enduring.

Our 10th and final ML10 release is by none other than Mural Lingo’s Founder, A’shua Imran 🏴‍☠️

Introducing Pirate Skull (Reimagined)—a design originally worn by our crew back in 2018–2019, and one that grew into a symbol of our studio culture. What began as an inside joke—our mission to “steal a ship, gather our crew, and sail across the horizon”—slowly became something deeper. Over the years, the pirate skull came to stand for the values we still build by today: loyalty, trust, courage, resilience, and the belief in a tight-knit crew willing to grow together and venture into the unknown.

This final drop is a full-circle moment—honouring where we started, the journey we’ve taken, and every person who’s been part of the ride. ⚓✨

Happy New Year! The party doesn't stop 😂 Due to a packed schedule and the holiday period, we still have our last 2 drops to go of our ML10 series 🥳

Our 9th drop is by Avril 🥦🏴‍☠️

She first joined us as an intern back in 2023, and has since become a well-loved member of our crew. As our ML10 series comes to its conclusion, we come full circle because Avril is the designer behind our 10 Year Anniversary branding! Big heart, big talent and a creative voice that keeps getting stronger.

Her ML10 design brings together Mural Lingo’s spirit as a pirate painting crew with her iconic broccoli character — symbolising a shared journey where everyone plays a part in keeping the ship moving and the plants growing. This one’s all about teamwork, growth, and building something meaningful together.

The 8th drop in the ML10 series is by an artist that needs no introduction, it's Toby aka ! 🎏🎊

Toby was part of the Mural Lingo crew before going solo to grow his own brand. It’s been inspiring watching him forge his own path — and to see how far his creativity and dedication have taken him. 🚀

This piece features a self-portrait of young warrior, clad in oriental armour and wielding paintbrushes as his weapon of choice — symbolising his time at Mural Lingo and journey further into the creative world. It reflects the path he’s carved by collaborating across mediums, artists, and communities, shaping the brand we now recognise as Tobyato. 🎨⚔️

You know the drill—another artist’s spotlight with our ML10 artists. Here’s a Q&A with Mathew, aka Hyperfolk!🎨

Private works: 2, 5, 6, 10 | ML works: 3, 4, 7, 8, 9

What is your favourite design project to date?👨🏻‍💻

My favorite projects to date are the animated illustrations I created for Mediacorp + CNA (Channel News Asia). I contributed to a couple of shows, including On The Red Dot, Undercover Asia, and Mind Blown. Despite tight deadlines, I thoroughly enjoyed working on each of them. I guess my favourite among them would be for this Mind Blown episode about Meat just because it was the very first one I did. Plus I got to draw and animate
farting cows.🐮

What are your favourite ways to relax after a long day at work?😌

It’s a toss between taking a walk and cycling (commuting by bike). I think they’re both meditative (for me at least). It’s also a treat to see something new or weird or even random things that’ll make you double take - be it a kid from a preschool waving at you from a window, to a raven making a nest on top of a utility post. Plus you get some to exercise too.

What are your current jams?🎸

That’s a tough one, but just to name a few songs/albums that have been on repeat
recently/past couple of months:
- SVBKVLT Beat Tape by Caliph8
- Blue Monsoon by Sound
- 純情ランドセル (Jyunjo Randoseru) by 赤井公演 (Akaikoen)
- Despedida by Mt. Lewis
- One Last Kiss by Utada Hikaru

Congratulations to LHN Limited / Coliwoo on the successful rejuvenation of the Old Bukit Timah Fire Station, and for recently receiving the Singapore Good Design Award under the Spatial Category! 👏😄

This ambitious project breathes new life into a heritage site, preserving its old-school charm while transforming it into a modern lifestyle destination. We were thrilled to play a part in the site's next chapter, contributing a mural on the fire station’s iconic tower - a piece that adds character, colour, and a sense of continuity to the space. Thank you LHN, Coliwoo and in particular, our POC Lorenzo Mariani for bringing us on board.

At Mural Lingo, we ensure murals not only enhance the aesthetic and experiential value of a development but also align seamlessly with construction timelines and design intent. We take pride in creating high quality works that not only beautify but also connect to the history and identity of a place.

We look forward to seeing how the renewed Bukit Timah Fire Station becomes a vibrant hub for the community - and to more collaborations that bring stories to life on the walls of Singapore.

The 7th drop of our ML10 series is here—designed by Mathew, aka Hyperfolk! ⚡🎨

Mathew's ML10 Anniversary design draws inspiration from the characters that appear on Mural Lingo’s website, reinterpreted by blending them with Yokai (Japanese folklore creatures). With elements and aesthetics reminiscent of 90s cartoons and alternative comics into the design injected, the artwork blends cultural myth with a nostalgic aesthetic, culminating in a design that will appeal to lovers of Japanese cult classic cartoons and modern streetwear.🤙🏼

Last week, Singapore Oceanarium opened its doors to the public, revealing a wonderous world of sea creatures that inhabit the depths of our oceans, past and present. Amongst the visual feast and interactive displays, we were honoured to unveil our latest mixed media mural, Between Wonder and Waste.

Commissioned as part of the inaugural Resorts World Sentosa Sustainability Arts Fund by Singapore Oceanarium under National Arts Council Singapore's stART fund, it brought together our passion for storytelling, community engagement and sustainability.

Since our first conversation with the RWS and NAC teams in October 2024, this project has evolved through months of collaboration, beach clean-ups including one with the RWS Conservation and Science team at Coney Island, design, experimentation and creation. The project involved 20 of our talented and tireless crew, who literally went from cleaning garbage to painting the final stroke.

The final product invites viewers to reflect on the beauty and fragility of our oceans, blending hand-painted elements with eye-opening ocean waste and interactive lights to create a layered, immersive experience.

A heartfelt thank you to NAC, RWS and Singapore Oceanarium for entrusting us with this opportunity. It’s been an inspiring journey, and we’re honoured to be part of this collective step forward in sustainable public art.

- What is your favourite design project to date? 💙❤️💛
I think for me, it’ll be the Decathlon project we did for Northshore, Punggol. It was one of the first design projects I did for Mural Lingo, and it was one where I got to work on from start to finish.

The Decathlon project was, and still is, my favourite because I really got to enjoy the design and ex*****on process. Getting to design something that I could relate to gave me motivation to design further!

- What are some common themes in your art?🖌️
I could say inclusivity and diversity. I try to always design with these two things in mind. As a designer who grew up around so many different people with different backgrounds, it makes me want to create designs that include them however I can.

- Where do you hope to be in 5 years?🤔
For my aspiration, as someone who loves going with the flow, I’d like to think that wherever I may be in 5 years… I’ll most probably still be doing something related to design, even if my role isn’t as a designer.

Personal life-wise… maybe I’ll be married by then, and start a small family? Who knows? I don’t know where I’ll be at, but hopefully I’ll be happy and at peace with my life whatever may happen, and when the time comes! 🤭

to 2019, when we partnered with BOSCH to reimagine their pantry space at the Singapore office with a mural that celebrates innovation, creativity, and everyday design.

This mural was created to reflect the diversity and dynamism of BOSCH’s global presence—where design meets engineering in the tools and appliances people use across the world. We brought this vision to life through a vibrant swirl of colours and hand-drawn motifs, referencing everything from smart home tech to kitchen essentials.

to 2022, when the Singapore Pools team commissioned us to design and facilitate a mural project as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. Together, we brought three walls to life at the Singapore Children’s Society—a charity founded in 1952 that continues to protect and nurture children and youth across all backgrounds.

At Mural Lingo, we find CSR and community murals to be one of the most rewarding experiences.

Would you take a day off to paint a wall that makes a difference?

We’re proud to announce one of our most iconic projects to date—“Between Wonder and Waste,” an immersive mural experience is about to be launched at Singapore Oceanarium - Resorts World Sentosa.

Earlier this year, our team carried out beach cleanups to collect ocean waste. Back at the studio, we deconstructed the materials and reimagined them as a large-scale 3D relief mural, now installed directly across from the aquarium’s Open Ocean zone. The work also features interactive technology and an end-of-tour hands-on experience for visitors.

We’re grateful to have brought this vision to life with the support of the National Arts Council Singapore’s Sustain the Arts (stART) Fund—enabling us to create immersive artworks that foster deeper appreciation for marine biodiversity.

This project is a bold expression of Mural Lingo’s unique DNA—where art, technology, and sustainability intersect to tell powerful stories.

Stay tuned for a full look behind the scenes—including process photos, videos, and a closer look at the final piece.
