Just launched today is an NS55 initiative that I helped develop.

Support by posting your old NS photos (yes, Navy, Air Force, Police, SCDF all also can!), cos best shots will nab Grab vouchers!

Best Daze of my life. 💖

Super chuffed that Army Daze is included in the Marshall Cavendish Classics series! This new edition has just hit the stores.

Who would have guessed that this little book (1985) would lead a gawky, wide-eyed journalist on to so many exciting paths: a play (1987), a movie (1996) and a stage sequel (2017)? Never never never in my wildest dreams.

Forever grateful to the ones with more faith in me than I probably had in myself. Thank you. 🙏 Eckkheng Goh

Was pretty stunned to receive this little ‘tribute video’ last night.

It’s made by a 19-year-old NS boy who watched Army Daze on Netflix!

Quite amazed that the film still resonates 25 years after it was first released.

And what were you doing at 19?

Nick Ward, 19, has already released his debut EP. This hugely talented singer-songwriter (plus award-winning filmmaker) began recording & producing his own music a year ago — creating a brand of ‘bedroom pop’ that’s boldly brilliant yet deeply personal.

That he is my nephew’s son is absolutely irrelevant. (I pride myself on being totally unbiased & objective.)

Everything I Wish I Told You, released 10 days ago, is available on Spotify & iTunes.

Technically, they were 8DAYS’ first cover girls: Zoe Tay, Linette Tye & Angelina Fernandez were shot for the rate card that preceded the launch of the entertainment weekly that would replace RTV Times.

Anyway, the first issue (swipe left) hit the newsstands on 13 Oct 1990, and the rest is history.

Moon-gazing and remembering the Cantonese nursery rhyme my mum used to recite to me as a young child when we took moonlit walks after dinner.

“月光光 / 照地堂
年卅晚 / 摘檳榔...”
(Oh bright moon / shining on the ground
On Lunar New Year’s Eve / we pick betel nuts...”)

It’s an odd lyric that makes my heart smile. And I suddenly miss her, ten years on.

This is such an incredible and meaningful initiative catering specially to Seniors, and I hope it will get the support and recognition it deserves.

The 'digital radio' service is actually an app that plays music from the 50s, 60s and 70s, alongside content curated to entertain and engage Baby Boomers.

Do spread the word, and help get parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, friends and neighbours in your social network connected. There is finally a media channel dedicated to their needs.
