Introducing i Light Future 2026 — a mentorship initiative under i Light Singapore 2026 designed to nurture emerging practitioners working across light, art, and technology ✨
Presented by DesignSingapore, the programme supports the development of thoughtful, site-responsive and publicly accessible light artworks through mentorship, experimentation and hands-on learning.
This year’s featured works explore how everyday structures and materials can carry deeper reflections about the spaces we inhabit and the systems we move through.
Steps by Nawal Bte Azhar interprets Singapore’s evolution through spatial relationships, while Market Cycles by Tan Mei Yee and Ng Choon Wee brings into focus what typically goes unnoticed.
Beyond the artworks themselves, i Light Future creates space for emerging creatives to learn from mentors, navigate real-world constraints, and experiment with new ways of engaging the public realm through festival experiences.
