I will be conducting a public workshop/jamming session, Improvised Ensem-blage, as part of Chapalang on the 31st Jan, 5pm At Helutrans artspace!

Join us in exploring the expressive, performative potential of the things around us, as we use motors, and simple electronic circuits with found objects to create an improvised performance.

No experience required! you are welcome to bring any preloved object that feels that its lived past its usefulness, yet too good to throw away.

Workshop is free, but registration is required.

Cosmic Coincidences is a collaboration rooted in the artists’ fascination with light. Referencing celestial and natural phenomena, from solar flares to reflections on water, Cosmic Coincidences unfolds through duration, with the performance of light in the space a nod to fleeting, shifting alignments.

While embracing chance, the installation also gestures towards the possibility of an underlying order or structure. Composed of ordinary domestic objects, it considers how small moments of wonder within our everyday can momentarily draw our perception to a quieter, slower register.

1. Cosmic Coincidences, installation view
2, 3. Early testing and prototypes
4, 5, 6. Chasing after the soft, ephemeral light drifting through space
7, 8, 9. BTS in the studio and during install

Special thanks to and for curating and organising the show, for the incredible effort to pull the show together; for the incredible effort and making the installation possible; for being so accommodating and kind, letting us experiment with the space.

Deeply honoured to be part of this amazing exhibition , curated by Gunalan Nadarajan and Roopesh Sitharan.

In Menggodam, 2 new pieces to join the family of Second Lives, where donated and discarded tableware embraces a life after retirement, finding new purpose as performative and kinetic objects. Each object, once resigned to be trash heap or 2nd hand store, now emerges as a choreographed spectacle, dancing and moving with purpose. Drawing inspiration from overheard conversations on retirement and the “what-ifs” of life at local kopitiam and hawker centres, the sculptures are the artist’s attempt to reimagine the other lives and possibilities that each tableware could have.

Working with the scars and imperfections of preloved tableware, the artist excavates the history etched into the surface of each piece, embracing the fragmented narratives of their previous lives. The chips, cracks, and missing parts are transformed with electronic components and moving parts, dreaming about the other lives they could lead.

Exhibition opens on the 16th August 2025. Come say hi if you are in the area!

The House between the Winds Week 1!

Deeply honoured by the opportunity to create this work on the Empress Lawn for

Almost a year in the making, it is a world where kinetic objects and sculptures communicate and interact with the performers and the audience to recreate The pilgrimage, where a boat brings the Seafarer and the audience across Empress Lawn, on a quest to find the sacred tree. Along the way, we meet a curious Medicine man and a Helpful Spirit who helps them on the way.

This work would not have been possible without the help of many people; and for putting up with my whims and producing the show with me; John for his fabulous work on the house, for his beautifully detailed 3d rendition of my hand drawn boat; , .aggs for populating the world with their delightful performance; Han the boat captain and the wonderful boat crew for activating the entire pilgrimage; .ge and many others for their invaluable support with the workshops and the tapestry; and to the Team at Q's for their generous and professional support on the build; and all of the crew from taking care of the work under the harsh singapore sun.

We have another weekend of shows coming up from 30 May to 1 June. Come by and say hi if you are free!

Installation day 3

The installation is finally coming together after many months of planning, prototyping and testing! What was originally a passing remark of how tarpaulin had such an invisible yet persistent presence in our ever-changing cityscape sparked ideas and conversations on how we could use this unremarkable material to visualise the intangible movements of time, of space, of progress, and of memories.

Deeply grateful to Mr. for inviting me on this journey; for translating our extremely vague vision of "a canvas coat/skin for a tower" into reality; the team for their trust and faith in our very serepeditous process, as well as their crew for their invaluable support, advice and troubleshooting skills; catching problems before they could happen.

Exhibitions opens 15 Jan
