It was a true privilege to perform in the presence of President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Ms Jane Ittogi, and we are sincerely honoured that they took the time to watch our performance.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and shared in this wonderful morning of music, community, and celebration.

A timeless masterpiece returns.

This September, New Opera Singapore proudly presents Igor Stravinskyโ€™s The Rakeโ€™s Progressโ€”a dazzling neoclassical opera inspired by William Hogarthโ€™s iconic series of paintings. Following the tragic journey of the young Tom Rakewell, the opera explores the temptations of wealth, ambition, and desire, charting his descent from innocence into moral ruin through Stravinskyโ€™s brilliantly inventive score and W. H. Audenโ€™s masterful libretto.

This landmark production will be Artistically Directed by Jeong Ae Ree and Music Directed by Chan Wei Shing, bringing together an exceptional cast and creative team for an unforgettable evening of operatic theatre.

And just like that, New Operaโ€™s 3rd International Youth Opera Festival has come to a close. โœจ

Over the last week, we have witnessed extraordinary talent, inspiring artistry, and a shared passion for opera from young singers across Asia. The standard this year was exceptionally high, and we are immensely proud of every participant who took to the stage with courage, dedication, and musical excellence.

Our heartfelt congratulations go to all our contestants for their outstanding performances, and to our prize winners for their well-deserved achievements.

We extend our deepest appreciation to our esteemed judges for their time, expertise, and encouragement; to our collaborative pianists for their artistry and unwavering support; to the parents and teachers who have nurtured and guided these young musicians; and to every volunteer, staff member, and colleague working tirelessly behind the scenes to make this festival possible.

This festival would not have been the success it was without the collective efforts of so many individuals who believe in the power of music, education, and artistic exchange.
