Musicians with a Cause sets out to bring the orchestral experience to audiences that are not able to make it to a conventional concert hall. Join us if you have the heart and desire to do something meaningful with your music.

We’re off to the last season for 2025!

Grateful for the volunteer players who have stayed on from the previous season(s) as well as the new players who are still welcome to join us this time round.

For the upcoming performances, we’ll be pushing ourselves with more challenging pieces while keeping the evergreens fondly in our pockets for Residents to reminisce.

Anyone still keen to join MAC Ensemble and our cause for strengthening community bonding and resilience, it’s never late to do so. Pls DM me/Janelle Kam if interested.

Throwback to July 2025 when, for the first time, MAC Ensemble tried out small chamber groups to play in the wards of Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital.

This brought much laughter, close interactions, rambunctious excitement enthusiasm to ward residents in a mash-up of music and movement-focused games 💖💖

All the practices, hard work and planning was well worth it! It brought us so much joy seeing residents afflicted with dementia, stroke and paralysis fogetting their limitations for a moment and getting themselves to push their boundaries.

We will want to pursue this format when the opportunity arises. Stay tuned for more updates!

We know as musicians that music works in mysterious ways - a weekend outreach at St Joseph’s Home reminded us of that. Without words, the interaction and the openness of this audience showed us that truly music speaks to individuals and move us in ways only we know. It enables, empowers and reinforces the ability to connect with another human being.

We welcome violins and violas and cellos and basses (and your instruments) to join this community orchestra that's on a mission to weave music through the corridors of nursing homes and other communities.

Hard work pays! We entertained the residents at Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital last afternoon with a mix of famous classical and singalong favourites. [Update]: Unfortunately, the COVID wave meant it was prudent to postpone the performance on Dec 9. The Christmas-themed goody bags were delivered for distribution. MAC Ensemble sends our best wishes to the staff and residents of St Joseph's Home, Catholic Welfare Services Sg. We look forward to bringing a performance next year when the situation improves and stabilises.

Update: Unfortunately, the COVID wave means it was prudent to postpone the performance. The goody-bags were delivered for distribution. We look forward to bringing a new programme next year.

Goody-bags packed! Looking forward to bringing some festive cheer with our very first concert at St Joseph's Home on Saturday.
