Today, our young artists explored the fascinating world of color mixing using only primary colors (red, blue, and yellow) as well as black and white paints.

Throughout the class, the children learned to be mindful and considerate of their fellow artists by sharing the different paints and keeping the colors clean for everyone's use.

We also talked about the different hues, tints, and shades that can be created by mixing the given colors. By the end of the session, the children were able to confidently mix their own unique colors and even experimented with mixing and matching marker colors.

It was truly inspiring to see our young artists discover the joys and wonders of color mixing and we can't wait to see what creative masterpieces they come up with next!

What are patterns?

We explored using lines and shapes to create patterns as a decorative element for art. From our exploration, we dialogued how some patterns remind us of the body covering of certain animals!

It is so easy to lose sight of what matters to the children when it comes to art but by leaving it open-ended, the children will demonstrate exactly what matters the most to them."
