Baritone Alvin Tan received his music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He has sung the roles of Papageno in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Demetrius in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Le Dancaïro in Bizet’s Carmen, Timur in Puccini’s Turandot, and Dandini in Rossini’s La Cenerentola.

He has also performed as a soloist in Faure's Requiem and Brahms’ Requiem with the Braddell Heights Symphony Orchestra.

Alvin was described in the Straits Times as being ‘confident and of hearty voice’, ‘impressive, with a rich, burnished tonal colour’, and possessing ‘gloriously flexible articulation’.

Tenor Jonathan Charles Tay is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, New York City. He attained his Master of Music in Northwestern University, Chicago, IL.

Jonathan is co-founder and co-artistic director of Singaporean Opera Company, The Opera People (TOP).

His recent performance highlights include Eisenstein in Strauss’s Die Fledermaus and Don José in Bizet’s Carmen with Singapore Lyric Opera, and Beethoven’s Choral Fantasie with Singapore Symphony Orchestra. He also sang the role of Bertrando in Rossini’s L’inganno felice with Lirica Arts.

Jonathan’s performances have garnered praise from OPERA magazine as “excellent and very lyrical”.

Mezzo soprano Rebecca Chellappah holds a Masters in Music with Distinction from the Royal Northern College of Music. Rebecca was born and grew up in Singapore but now is based in the UK where she enjoys an international singing career.

Rebecca’s opera credits include the title roles of Carmen in Bizet's Carmen, Delilah in Saint-Saëns’ Samson and Delilah, and Rosina in Rossini’s The Barber of Seville.

Her oratorio performances include Mahler's 8th Symphony, Handel's Messiah, Mendelssohn's Elijah, and Mozart's Requiem.

Rebecca is a committed Christian and Oratorio holds a special place in her heart. She sang her very first performance of Handel’s Messiah with Tom Anderson conducting in 2008. She is delighted to be singing this wonderful piece of music again with Tom on the 23rd of April! 😍

Soprano Joyce Lee Tung graduated with a Master of Arts in Voice and Masters in Concert Singing from the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, Austria.

Joyce is co-founder of the collective, The Art Song Coterie, which is dedicated to promoting the art song and its refined performance.

Her professional operatic engagements include Madame Herz (Mozart’s Der Schauspieldirektor), Frasquita (Bizet’s Carmen), Adele (J. Strauss’ Die Fledermaus), Queen of the Night (Mozart’s The Magic Flute) and Isabella (Rossini’s L’inganno felice).

Currently, she is adjunct principal study lecturer for voice at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and adjunct voice teacher at School of The Arts Singapore.
