Or dive deeper into an exploration of magic in the mundane in Midnight Voyagers: Murakami-inspired—a full show developed from Scratch-Easy IV in June 2026, inspired by the bestselling Japanese writer, Haruki Murakami.

Traditional stories in contemporary bodies: A fisherman wrestles with the sea. A fox slips between human and animal. A spider bargains for all the stories in the world. A man, suspended between two tigers, tastes a strawberry.

Drawing from folktales, fables and stories of tradition from across cultures, Movement Shorts: Parables brings together an ensemble of performers exploring these old tales through movement, dance, physical theatre and play.

What happens when stories passed from mouth to mouth enter the body?

Presented by Metamorphosis as imagined by Eugene in partnership with Central Arts Library, and directed by Eugene Chow, Parables is a collection of short works in development, where ancient stories are taken apart, embodied in contemporary bodies, and given permission to enter the world in their strange manner again.

Come hang at our Sub+ Community gathering in collaboration with Eliko Picture Books & things, and try your hand at responding to creative prompts from our Gacha Poem machine, written by Sub+ Resident Artist Euginia Tan. Based on possibly the most infamous opening line in literary history, "It was a dark and stormy night," we invite you to continue the story in your own creative way while meeting fellow book- and story-lovers during your stay.

NEW episode drop feat. Ultra Mega Cat Attack, one of the young bands we've grown to know and love in recent years.

We had some serious fun recording this – even though we were attacked by technical gremlins and post-production took forever – so we want to say thank you so much to the band for their patience and for making the whole thing enjoyable.
