Learning a pancharathnam had been a long time wish but I never envisioned presenting it in such a grandeur way.

So I wanted to etch it forever in my memory with this painting of Saint Thiyagarajan for my beloved guru Sripriya Vijay

Thank you for always believing in me and pushing me to continue singing in whatever capacity I could.
May the God almighty always keep blessing you with the best of everything in life and you keep enlightening us with your music .

Painting : Saint Thyagarajar ( inset Sri Ramar )
Medium : Acrylic on canvas

Background is worked with textured mediums and explored gold gliding for this project with a coating of gold pigment .

There are people who appreciate this artform and then there are students like Dharini who are entirely devoted to it.. the essence of her hardwork and passion in creating this piece for her brother is so evident that I need no words to describe the beauty…

This theme inspired from the ancient temple of Thirukurungudi represents nine women coming together to form an elephant with Krishna riding the vahana. It’s a symbolic representation of the navarasas (the nine essential emotional essences) while Krishna is remembered as Rasaraja, the king of all rasas.

Making this piece involved working on multiple figures with extensive muck work. A piece of this size needs hours of effort and I am so proud of Dharini for delivering this with utmost perfection.. May you keep creating many more such wonderful paintings. Way to go dear 🥰

Theme : KRISHNA WITH NAVANARI KUNJARA
Size : 18x24 inches
