Bolt Action – How It All Began
Back in 2012, Warlord Games teamed up with Osprey Publishing and legendary designers Rick Priestley and Alessio Cavatore to launch a new kind of WWII tabletop wargame. ⚔️
The vision? A game that was fast, cinematic, and accessible, yet still rich in historical flavour. Instead of complex simulations, Bolt Action used its iconic order dice system to capture the chaos and unpredictability of battle.
Players could build armies in 28mm scale, from US paratroopers to Soviet tank brigades, and recreate epic campaigns across Europe, Africa, and the Pacific. 🌍
Since then, Bolt Action has grown into a global community, with expansions, tournaments, and even alternate-history spin-offs like Konflikt ’47. Its mix of history, hobby, and strategy keeps it thriving more than a decade later.
