✨ NEW SESSION: INTERMEDIATE PROGRAM ✨

Excited to introduce the upcoming session of the Intermediate Program in Singapore! Students will receive contemporary & jazz dance training, 1:1 professional mentorship, and an in-studio recording of a new group piece choreographed by our Artistic Director.

The Intermediate Program provides dancers with the tools and opportunities they need to sharpen their technical/improvisational skills, collaborate with other artists, and build their confidence.

The Advanced Program provides dancers with the tools and opportunities they need to develop their unique artistry, sharpen their technical skills, and build their professional network.

1. Headshot

3. Letter of Interest (2 paragraphs max.)
4. Video consisting of:
- Demonstration (barre or center): plié, tendu, rond de jambe, grand battement, balance on one leg (can be one combo)
- Across the Floor: chaînés turns, piqué turns, grand jeté, use of space
- 30-90 second dance solo (any style/music) and/or 30-60 second improvisation

Introducing Lauren Blair Smith Dance Company’s Pre-Professional Dancers:

Reika Taira is a dancer who specialises in contemporary, ballet, and jazz. She has a comprehensive dance background, having started at the age of three.

For the past three years, Reika has been dancing under Lauren Blair Smith’s Pre-Professional Dance Program. She also performed in festivals at Palm Desert, CA and New York City representing the LBS Dance Company.

She spends most of her time dancing in her school’s programs and performances. Through her art, Reika hopes to capture audiences as well as impact and inspire her community.

Introducing Lauren Blair Smith Dance Company’s Pre-Professional Dancers:

Sophia Reiner began her journey in ballet. From being a passionate tutu-ed toddler, Sophia has grown her dance repertoire to include five years of contemporary, supplemented by a background in gymnastics. Her experience brings thoughtful fluidity to her dancing and after all this time, her love for the art remains.

Sophia cares most about intentionality in choreography. Writing means everything to her and within dance, she finds an exquisite language through which she can punctuate her messages with every bent arm or flexed foot. To communicate beyond words – through movement – is why Sophia loves to dance.

Mia Comerford has a background in both classical ballet and contemporary dance. With a solid decade of ballet training and three years of dedicated contemporary dance practice, she embodies a unique blend of elegance and innovation in her performances.

Mia's journey in the world of dance began at a tender age, and ever since she has participated in many productions including the Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Alice in Wonderland, Aladdin, and many more. This is her first year working with Lauren Blair Smith.
