I just managed to finish The Last Of Us Part II a few hours ago. I've never felt this strongly towards a game before though to get it out of the way with minimal spoilers, here's my honest verdict of the game:
It's been a while since I played a fully packed action-adventure game, but this is hands-down, the best triple-A title I've ever played. The character design, actor performances, bespoke details, top-tier visuals, animation fidelity, audio engineering, and disruptive storytelling collectively contributed to an epic gaming experience. In my opinion, it sets the bar quite high for modern games and will be tough to beat even by next-generation titles. This game pushed the limits of what the PS4 can do. At times, it's as if you're almost watching a cinematic movie rather than playing a game. It's something you have to experience yourself firsthand to understand.
I don't understand the amount of flak and backlash hurled towards this game. For me, given the technicalities involved, It's nothing short of amazing. I think It's 's most ambitious project to date, and in doing so, gave birth to one of PS4's finest exclusives and this generation's best titles on console and even on PC.
It's the perfect send-off for the PS4 towards the arrival of the PS5 and next-gen consoles. For anyone who hasn't played it yet, I know we're kind of late to the party, but do yourself a favor and buy a copy, pop that into your console, and strap yourself in for one heck of a ride.
Overall a solid 10/10 👏
P.S. - I realized there's so much ground to cover in this game that deserves a review. For anyone who's interested, this review pretty much sums up all of my thoughts for this game:
