5AM Early Music Singers Vocal ensemble based in SG, specialising in music from the European Renaissance and Middle-Ages

The 5AM Early Music Singers are a vocal ensemble based in Singapore, formed in late 2020 by a group of young but passionate music students and graduates as a platform for the research and performance of the music of Renaissance and Medieval Europe. The 5AM Singers strive to bring these underrepresented treasures of Early Music to everyone, ranging from the layperson to the musically experienced, t

hrough our commitment towards quality chamber singing and historically-informed performance practice. As explorers and intrepid adventurers, we value innovation and collaboration, and aspire to present novel ideas that will challenge the traditional mould of the classical music or choir concert, all while remaining always rooted in the perennial discipline of beautiful and artistic music-making.

In the cold winter's night the congregation gathers as the darkness settles in. By flickering candlelight they raise their hands in prayer as they begin their night long vigil, awaiting the coming of dawn and with it their hopes and prayers.

The 5AM Early Music Singers return to the Armenian Church, this time featuring music from the Eastern Orthodox Church from Ukraine and Russia. Join us as we journey through the contemplative, sombre yet joyful music of well known favourites like Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, and the charming classical form of choral concertos by Bortnyansky and the 'Mozart of Ukraine', Berezovsky.

Come with us to experience an evening of music that transcends borders and resonates with everyone, be they from the banks of the Dnippe River to the banks of the Singapore River.

We will be performing a variety of Franco-Flemish Renaissance Madrigals all about the season of love and birds. Come join us on 8th Feb at 7:15pm and 8:15pm at the Esplanade Concourse and say "hi" to Magnifi in "The Songs of the Birds".
