Anna Du Toit (anna du toit) works across drawing, painting, and sculpture, weaving magical realism with an animist sensibility. Latent questions of belonging and displacement run beneath it all, extending into ceramic and sculptural forms that push against what these materials are meant to do.

KHOOGJ (KHOOGJ) is a Singapore-based photographer who explores the relationship between human experience and the spaces we inhabit. His work evokes emotions and thoughts that are shaped by the spaces we occupy. Through the use of light and colour, Guo Jie emphasises the deep connections between people and their environments, prompting viewers to reflect on how these spaces influence our lives and memories. His photography aims to enrich our understanding of the experiences that unfold within architectural spaces.

“Outsider” by KHOOGJ (KHOOGJ) is now live.

This presentation changes as it unfolds, so four photographs will rotate to form evolving diptychs. The relationships between the images are never fixed; Like the light they record, each encounter is slightly different.

Over the next week, we’ll share other moments from a wider body of work here, so keep your eyes peeled 👀 for glimpses of images that appear, disappear… and return.

Parting shots from “Ultrally Yours”, a project by Nila Choo (), JHP () and Jack Xi ().

Old Fort Road has changed beyond recognition, but the exhibition worked from what still lingers there, gathering objects, images and text into fragments of lives that left few visible traces along the way.

Grateful to everyone who spent time with the show over the past months, whether through word of mouth, a return visit, or simply passing through. Thanks for keeping these stories in circulation.

“Ultrally Yours” opens at I_S_L_A_N_D_S this Saturday, 26 June.

A project by Nila Choo (), JHP (), and Jack Xi (), the mixed media installation looks to Fort Road’s history as an informal place of gathering, while reflecting on what has shifted since the repeal of Section 377A. Bringing together photographs of Tanjong Rhu with temporal, playful dioramas, the work considers how q***r lives continue to move between visibility and concealment, even as it gestures towards more open and collective ways of being.

A last look at “Ubat Tolak Bala” by Tiga Tabib Hoo Ha Zat (). No miracles were promised. None were guaranteed. Yet somehow, many left feeling slightly better than when they arrived. We’ll take that as a success!!?! 🐍

Thank you for joining us at the launch last weekend! ✨ Hope you caught a glimpse of Tabib Hoo () and Tabib Zat (.arif) while they were in town. 👀 With Tabib Ha () in spirit, of course..

For now, the tabibs have left the building.🦜 And the island. Licensing issues, permit non-recognition, and so on. Just the usual resistance that good remedies tend to attract. 🥥 Perhaps, you could even say that this friction is not incidental, but central to how the practice operates?

Anyway! They’ve moved on, but some remedies and concoctions are still circulating online, informally, beyond the reach of the appropriate forms. 🌴
