People think we just make oversized mascots...

What they don’t see is the endless rolls of foam, the heavy smell of contact glue, carving shapes by hand, and sewing thick faux fur at midnight. They don’t see the last-minute pattern adjustments or the giant disembodied heads completely taking over the workshop.

It’s a non-stop puzzle of balancing vision, ventilation, ergonomics, and tight deadlines. Most projects spend weeks looking completely terrifying or utterly ridiculous before they ever look friendly and impressive.

And honestly, that’s the best part.

Behind every mascot costume or character suit is a team figuring things out in real-time, constantly asking ourselves: “How are we actually going to make a human fit inside this and MOVE in it?”

Then the suit gets zipped up, the music starts, the performer steps out, and these strange workshop builds get people saying - WOW.

We still can’t believe this is our job sometimes.

Unpopular opinion: CGI is great, but absolutely clear🦊

If you’ve seen the Singaporean series Fox Tales (《小狐狸雪儿》), you already know Xue’er is the moment. But using a physical puppet instead of 3D animation wasn’t just a retro design choice. It is actually a whole hack!

🧠Turns out, little kids view puppets as real friends, not just pixels on a screen. So when Xue’er uses her magical tail to spell out Mandarin words, it actually sticks. Plus, the simpler puppet sets mean way less screen fatigue for toddler brains.

Supported by the Lee Kuan Yew Fund for Bilingualism, this show is low-key proving that old-school tactile magic still runs the game.
