INDONESIAN ARTS AND CULTURE FIGHTERS IN CHINA | FOUNDER OF INDONESIAN DANCE STAGE YINGDE ｜KAMPUNG🇮🇩 Ep.3/6

Yingde City is 150 km from Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, China. Apart from being known as a tea plantation area, the city of Yingde is also known as a village for overseas Chinese. "Guiqiao" is the name for Overseas Chinese who returned to China in the 1960s.

There are more than 2000 Indonesian Guiqiao who live in this place, most of whom were born on the islands of Java and Aceh, they returned to China for various reasons. This time I visited a Chinese born in Takengon, Aceh who moved to China in 1967. She was Mrs. Huang Huilan, founder of the Indonesian Dance Studio in Yingde.

For more than twenty years, Yingde dance studio has represented Indonesia at various events held by the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing and the Indonesian Consulate General in Guangzhou, and was even invited to perform at exhibitions held in Russia.

The Moors were a group of North Africans who conquered and ruled Spain for nearly 781 years, from 711 to 1492. They entered the Iberian Peninsula, Spain, after crossing the Strait of Gibraltar, passing through Morocco. African Moors were known for their exceptional architecture and engineering skills, and they built numerous impressive structures, such as universities and mosques in Spain, which still stand to this day. They made significant contributions in various fields, including math, medicine, chemistry, philosophy, astronomy, botany, bricklaying and history. The African Moors were the first to introduce the use of Arabic numbers in Europe, which are still used today. They also made significant advances in medicine, developed treatments for various diseases and created medical textbooks that were widely used. In addition, the African Moors were skillful astronomers and developed advanced techniques to measure time and determine the position of celestial bodies. They also made important contributions to botany, introducing new plants in Spain and creating gardens admired by many. African Moors were also known for their expertise in bricklaying and built numerous impressive structures, such as Granada's Alhambra, considered one of the most beautiful and impressive buildings in the world. Finally, they also wrote extensively about their history, creating numerous historical texts that are still being studied today.

When the white chief had laid all his money on the ground and shown how much he would give if the Indians would sign a treaty, Crowfoot took a handful of clay, made a ball out of it and put it on the fire.
It did not crack.
Then he said to the white man, Now put your money on the fire and see if it will last as long as the clay.
The white man said, No….my money will burn because it is made of paper.
With an amused gleam in his eyes the old chief said, Oh, your money is not as good as our land, is it?
The wind will blow it away; the fire will burn it; water will rot it. But nothing will destroy our land.
You don’t make a very good trade.
Then with a smile, Crowfoot picked up a handful of sand from the river bank, handed it to the white man and said, You count the grains of sand in that while I count the money you give for the land.
The white man said, I would not live long enough to count this, but you can count the money in a few minutes.
Very well, said the wise Crowfoot, our land is more valuable than your money. It will last forever.
It will not perish as long as the sun shines and the water flows, and through all the years it will give life to men and animals, and therefore we cannot sell the land.
It was put there by the Great Spirit and we cannot sell it because it does not really belong to us.
You can count your money and burn it with a nod of a buffalo’s head, but only the Great Spirit can count the grains of sand and the blades of grass on these plains.
As a present we will give you anything you can take with you, but we cannot give you the land.”
