Bharatanatyam in Ludvika

Bharatanatyam in Ludvika Teaching the divine art called Bharatanatyam that I have always loved in a small town called Ludvika. I learnt this divine art from Madurai Tamil Isai Sangam.

My name is Meenakshi Karthick and I come from Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. Indian dances, especially Bharatanatyam is an art that I have always loved. Now I live in Ludvika, Sweden since 2009 and I see so many Indian families. Living so far away from my mother country and I don't want this art to disappear with me. Hence I am teaching this dance to all the interested kids. This is a chance for our

Indian kids to know their roots. Not only for the Indian kids, but also for others since Bharatanatyam is a Yoga in dance form. It helps us to stay fit.

Performed by Shamitha Yogeesh, Shriya Bopparaju and Deva Dhanya Shree Jayaprakash from Ludvika for the tamil song ”Asai mugam maranthu poche” by the famous poet, journalist, freedom fighter and the social reformer Mahakavi Subramaniya Bharathiyar, the poet who dreamt and started singing about free India in the 1910's even before India got freedom.
In this song, he sings about Lord Krishna in which he tells his friend that he forgot Lord Krishna’s face and wonders when he has not forgotten the love of Krishna, how come he can forget His face. A face comes to his vision but he cannot see Lord Krishna’s beauty in it. So he wonders what is the use of his eyes and his life when he forgot Lord Krishna’s face and doesn’t even have a picture of Krishna.
Although the song stopped abruptly in the end due to some technical problems, I am so proud of these beautiful kids.
