From a total of 50 submissions, the jury has undertaken a rigorous process to select the winner of the La Ca****la Composition Award. Particular emphasis was placed on artistic originality and on exploring the rich sonic potential of the female voice.
“The jury members bring different perspectives shaped by our professional backgrounds—and, of course, different tastes. There were many compelling entries, but we are united in our final decision, even if it was not an easy one,” says La Ca****la’s conductor, Merete Ellegaard, who served on the jury.
The winner will be announced, and the work will receive its world premiere at La Ca****la’s summer concert on 13 June.
“Several additional favorites from the submissions will also be performed at the concert, and we hope to include more in future programs,” says Merete Ellegaard.
