en overlooked, distorted or ignored, that why we take the merge, the blend, the mix as mission, so we enhance the change of understanding and meet each other's essence. In jazz in Melange has been the crux of a diverse musical renaissance, pulling the centre of gravity away from Western music only. Artists like the singular Ebo Krdum and Abdou Cissokho have been flag bearers for a brave new sound, one that challenges and connects to the present while honouring tradition. Our Spotify playlist also pays homage to most of the "passerby" song writers, songstresses and locals who are changing the game through a blend of ethnic and western music. Inevitably, Melange will expand well beyond the confines of its concert and playlist, though its scope and richness are represented through an eclectic range of musicians that each etch new pathways into a shared story.

We are pleased to present KAROOs debut EP!

The EP ”Casa” represents a journey filled with creativity, dedication, and the spirit of collaboration.

Karoo’s core is the meeting of three voices and traditions:
Abdou Cissokho (kora and vocals, griot traditions, Senegal), André Nobre (guitar and vocals, Portuguese Folk), and Solbritt Cederqvist (violin and vocals, Swedish Folk).

The trio was joined by other wonderful musicians who added their unique sounds: Sugarray Napunyi (bass guitar), Robin Cochrane (percussion and balafon), John Runefelt (accordion and piano), Jens Nilsson (flute), and Emeli Jeremias (cello).

John Runefelt was also responsible for recording and mixing the EP, and to Johannes Ahlberg for mastering.

MELANGE Global Beats Club

MELANGE

MELANGE, launched in September 2018, is an extension from Music Fusion Collection a project born in 2015. The main idea has been to promote the interaction of musicians coming from different backgrounds, helping them create musical projects that can fuse diverse cultures at the same time bringing people to enjoy these cultural diversities.

The event (Music Fusion) became so popular and many more musicians in Stockholm became interested in participating. In the beginning of 2018 we thought about putting together all these amazing artists who had been performing during the Music Fusion monthly events in one stage. This became something that engrossed the interest of some organizations, other arts and craft persons who wanted to show their creativity. The event became what we called Music Fusion Festival.
