PREMIERE TIME! Soprano Tessan-Maria Lehmussaari sings Zerlina in Mozart's Don Giovanni for Den Jyske Opera at Musikhuset in Aarhus this evening.

The stage director is Dan Turdén, and the conductor Cathrine Winnes.

The production plays four nights in Aarhus before going on tour until the 10th April around Denmark. Gudrun Dahlkvist conducts several performances too.

PREMIERE TIME! This evening mezzo Kari Koskinen takes to the stage in the role of Milly in Schreker's Der ferne Klang for Kungliga Operan in Stockholm.

A composer with creative anxiety leaves his love to follow Der ferne Klang, the sound in the distance. Franz Schreker's breakthrough work about Fritz and Grete is a late-Romantic opera that swings through tempo, dynamics and great emotions.

This is a revival of the 2019 production directed by Christof Loy. The Royal Opera's Orchestra and Chorus are conducted by John Fiore.

The production runs until the 14th March.

The production is directed by Kirill Karabits and stage direction is from the duo Jean-Philippe Clarac & Olivier Deloeuil.

Mezzo soprano Dara Savinova sings the role of Licinio in Porsile's seldom performed opera Spartaco in a concert performance at Barokkfest 2026 this evening, with Orkester Nord conducted by Martin Wåhlberg.
The performance takes place at Frimurerlogen Hall in Trondheim at 7:30pm.

"The slave revolt led by gladiator Spartaco against the Roman Empire has never ceased to fascinate and intrigue generations of authors and artists. In this opera from 1726, the Neapolitan composer Porsile offers a striking take on the story of Spartacus which is unique for its time."

Minsoo Ahn jumps in this evening at the Prague State Opera, performing the roles Tonio (Leoncavallo's Pagliacci) and Alfio (Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana).

The State Opera Orchestra & Chorus are conducted by Richard Hein and the stage director of the production is Ondřej Havelka.

We are delighted to welcome the young Finnish conductor Solveig Lindroos to the Svanholm Artists roster for general management.

Solveig (b. 2002) is a Finnish conductor raised in Finland and Sweden, already making her mark on the Nordic and European music scene. Recent highlights include Sibelius’ Kullervo with Orkester Filialen, Peter Maxwell Davies’ Eight Songs for a Mad King at Åland Opera Festival, and Crusell’s Den Lilla Slavinnan for Opera Box.

She has worked with orchestras and opera houses across Scandinavia, as assistant conductor for Philharmonic, Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Opera Rogaland, Tampere Talo and Åland Opera Festival.

She is currently completing her Masters in conducting at the Zurich University of the Arts under Christoph-Mathias Mueller.

Solveig is a name to watch...so watch this space!

We are delighted to welcome young Swedish lyric-dramatic soprano Marta Cecilia Saelöen to the Svanholm Artists roster.

Marta Cecilia is currently a member of the Opera Academy at Malmö Opera - their young ensemble.

She recently covered Elsa in Malmö Opera's production of Lohengrin, and also sang Alice Ford in their touring outdoor version of Verdi's Falstaff.

Marta Celilia studied at Vadstena Academy of Music and Opera and the Academy of Music and Opera at Mälardalen University.

She has sung also sung the role of Betty in Jan Sandström's newly written opera Stormen Betty, and the roles of Suor Angelica and Lidoine in the production of Systrar (Suor Angelica and Dialogues des Carmélites) at Västmanlands Teater.
