OPEN CALL: Performance Evening and Lokomotivet LAB 2026
Mer Dans åt Folket and Eskilstuna Municipality – Stages and Events, in collaboration with Danscentrum Stockholm and Cirkuscentrum, announce a collaborative residency week for professional independent artists working within dance and circus.
We invite three dance constellations/choreographers and three circus constellations/artists to spend a week at Lokomotivet in Eskilstuna — a space for rehearsal, artistic exchange and public encounters.

14–19 September 2026
Lokomotivet, Eskilstuna, Sweden
During the week, participants will be offered
* Access to Lokomotivet’s stage, dance studio and circus-adapted rehearsal space.
* Shared discussions and exchange with other participating artists.
* The possibility of receiving an “outside eye” (choreography, directing or dramaturgical feedback from Jannine Rivel and Amanda Billberg).
* Two dance workshops led by Thusnelda Mercy and Pascal Merighi (DE).
* Public performances/showings during Kulturnatt Eskilstuna on Saturday 19 September.
Fee and conditions
* Fee: SEK 10,000 per participating group/constellation against invoice.
* Limited compensation for travel and accommodation is available.
* Maximum 3 participants per group/constellation.
* Applicants are required to hold membership in either Danscentrum or Cirkuscentrum (or secure it following selection).
The application should include
* A short presentation of the group/constellation.
* A description of the work you wish to develop or share.
* Links to previous work or work samples and two photos.
