Intercult is a cultural organisation in Sweden, that works with European projects and expertise.

Intercult is an independent European center for culture based since 1996 in Stockholm, Sweden. We initiate and facilitate transnational, interdisciplinary artistic and educational projects. We work in networks with partners from countries in and beyond Europe, setting up artistic encounters and working for Stockholm in European partnerships. We create platforms and structures for artist and cultural stakeholders to initiate and develop projects in the public and virtual space. We are active in the Swedish and European cultural policy debate on issues of funding, transnational collaboration, social conditions for artists and education. We manage Europe Direct Stockholm Information Center, informing about policies of European Union as well as issues related to culture in international relations. Our projects, conferences and seminars present the latest methodologies for cultural organisations, providing inspiration and opportunities for colleagues to network and share practice. www.intercult.se

Intercult has signed the joint letter to EU leaders calling for a strong AgoraEU in the next EU budget. Now we’re asking you to add your name too.

AgoraEU is the programme that will carry Creative Europe, independent media and civic rights work across the Union in 2028 to 2034. The current proposal cuts the overall EU budget by 8%, but cuts AgoraEU by around 30%. The saving amounts to just 0.2% of the total budget. The cost to Europe’s cultural and civic life would be far greater, and much of it hard to rebuild.

For us this is not abstract. Our work with partners across Europe, including Turning the Tide and Digital on Stage Project, is built on exactly the kind of cross-border cooperation AgoraEU makes possible. Artists, cultural workers and communities meet, share ideas and create together because this infrastructure exists.

More than 600 organisations have already signed, alongside Culture Action Europe, On the Move and many others. The letter is still open for signatures.

Demokratins nya röster: vernissage på fredag! 📣

Vad betyder demokrati för en ny generation? På fredag öppnar vi utställningen Demokratins nya röster, där unga konstnärer tar plats och låter sina röster höras genom olika konstnärliga medier.

As part of Turning the Tide, Dear Hunter (Marlies Vermeulen and Remy Kroese) host a programme of lectures and workshops at Bureau Europa on Thursday, October 15 and Friday, October 16.

Three years ago, Turning the Tide (TTT) began with a simple question: What kind of world do we want to live in? Now, the European collaboration project is coming to an end. Artists, residents, urban planners and policymakers will come together one last time to explore the role that art and culture can play in addressing the climate crisis. Project partners from Gdańsk (Poland), Stockholm (Sweden), Athens (Greece), Vienna (Austria) and the Netherlands (Marlies Vermeulen and Remy Kroese from Dear Hunter) will also be in Maastricht to engage in dialogue with participants and visitors.

After three years of work across four European waterfront communities, Turning the Tide is coming home to close where culture and climate action meet.

This isn't just a wrap party. It's a celebration, a conclusion, and a working gathering, with experts, talks, and hands-on workshops that turn three years of research into something you can actually take part in.

On Thursday 15 October and Friday 16 October in Maastricht, the public program opens its doors to artists, residents, planners, policymakers, and anyone curious about how culture can help communities navigate climate change together.

Here's what to expect:

Public Launch: The Turning the Tide Atlas
Bureau Europa, Boschstraat 9, Maastricht

The evening opens with a welcome from Joep Vossebeld (curator) and Floor van Spaendonck (director, Bureau Europa), introducing the venue and exhibition.

From there, three moments define the night:
• The TTT Digital Exhibition launches, presenting 42 site-specific artworks created across the project's lifetime.

• The TTT Atlas is unveiled by Dr. Marlies Vermeulen and Remy Kroese, five hand-drawn maps documenting waterfront communities from Gdańsk to Stockholm, Vienna to Evia, plus cross-border research across the Euregio Meuse-Rhine. These maps are layered records of conversations, observations, and tensions gathered through months of fieldwork.

• The atlas is formally handed over to Michael Dejozé, Director of EGTC Euregio Meuse-Rhine, who closes the evening with a reflection on why culture matters in ecological and societal transformation.

As part of the Intercult Academy, we organised an Adult Education Group Mobility to Smart Berlin(), funded by Erasmus+.

The programme focused on non-formal and informal learning around:

🔹 Berlin’s cultural landscape
🔹 Community organisation across Europe
