A new documentary titled “Ian Fleming and the Curse of James Bond” is scheduled to premiere on Sky Arts at 10.00pm on 12th May 2026 (repeat on 17th May 2026 at 1.00pm), exploring the life of the Bond creator. Narrated by Helena Bonham Carter with contributors including author William Boyd, who wrote the 2013 Bond novel SOLO, and Ian Fleming biographer Nicholas Shakespeare, author of Ian Fleming: The Complete Man.

IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios has announced multi-platinum selling and award-winning singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey as the performer of the official title song for the upcoming video game 007 First Light. The title song for the upcoming James Bond 007 video game, a fully original, re-imagined origin story of Bond, has been written and composed by Lana Del Rey & David Arnold, marking the return of the composer to the Bond franchise.

IO Interactive - with an office in Malmö, Sweden - has announced that Superstar DJ Dimitri 'Vegas' Thivaios will be joining the cast of 007 First Light. As part of this standalone, re-imagined origin story for James Bond 007 in video games, players will be able to cross paths with Vegas’ character during the game’s globe-spanning mission. “I’ve been a fan of Bond for as long as I can remember, so stepping into the world of 007 First Light is a real honor. On Friday 17th April, From Sweden With Love founder and managing editor Anders Frejdh (together with Alexander Karelo of MovieZine.se) will co-host a 20th Anniversary screening of Casino Royale (2006) at Bio Skandia in Stockholm, a venue that recently made Time Out's prestigious list of the world's 100 best cinemas. The evening commence at 4pm with an After Work and Filmquiz (the winner will get the chance to enjoy the film in the Royal Box).

About the film, Frejdh says: “The 2006 film version of Ian Fleming’s 1953 book, Casino Royale, was a brave deconstruction of the series. The atypical espionage love story was cleverly modernized, spectacularly supercharged by Daniel Craig. His debut as James Bond became the definitive 007 of our time.”

Casino Royale (2006) rebooted the James Bond 007 franchise by changing the actor, but not only that. The film also changed the game in the series' most famous card duel. In Ian Fleming's 1953 novel, Bond plays baccarat, specifically the chemin de fer variant, which is 007's favorite game. In the 2006 film, however, he sits down at a table to play Texas Hold'em.
